Cecilia Huerta Gallegos left work at Saint Francis Nursing Home on Woodlawn Avenue to go see her children at her house on Sunday, July 7, but she was never seen again.

She hasn’t used any credit cards, called anyone or showed up to work again. Family members say her vehicle is sitting in her northwest side driveway at 5600 Southwick Street.

Huerta Gallegos is 5 feet 1 inch, weighs 120 pounds, has brown eyes, curly black hair, and dark complexion.

Her friends and colleagues are concerned that her husband may be involved. Gallegos allegedly told them that she had marital issues and that her husband was violent. Her friends said that Gallegos told them if she went missing to question her husband.

She ran off with her lover and left her kids behind!?! Men need to realize no mother, or almost no mother, will take off and leave her kids behind. Most of us love our kids like we love our hand. We need them to live.

Volunteers help search for missing woman
Search and rescue is an ugly business.

Fighting the heat and thorn-filled bushes, volunteers spent hours searching for 30-year-old Cecilia Huerta Gallegos, mother of four, who has been missing for nearly a month now.

The two met during a search for Andreen McDonald, whose body was recently found after being missing for several months.

They wanted to keep up the searches for other victims.

So together, the founded Chain Breakers.

"It's actually founded on behalf of Andreen, but it means to break the chains of domestic violence," said Glass.

As a child, Cecilia Huerta Gallegos nursed injured animals back to health, her sister recalls. As an adult, she’s known as a doting mother and a compassionate nursing assistant who’s gentle with the elderly residents in her care.

It’s not like her to let others worry about her, friends and family say.

Her younger brother, 26-year-old JD, talked with her on the phone that day.

“She told him that she feared something was going to happen, that she needed to go home and watch her kids,” said ML, 33, one of Cecilia’s sisters.

Her six siblings, who all live in Houston, became very concerned when none of them had heard from her for several days after that last ominous phone call with JD. He asked San Antonio police for a welfare check and when she couldn’t be found, he filed a missing persons report.

Siblings were stunned when police told them Cecilia’s husband, 34-year-old Reyes Huerta Gallegos, had called 911 the morning of July 8 to report his wife had assaulted him in their home. He told officers she then said she was leaving the family and took off with an unnamed man who was waiting in a car outside, according to Margie Lopez, 35, another one of Cecilia’s sisters.

ML and Cecilia’s other siblings don’t believe it.

This whole case worries me a lot. Cecilia was clearly in fear of her husband & it sounds like he was a bully. What a horrible situation for her to be in. Ominous.

Margie Lopez said police have told her video taken the night of July 7 by a security camera Reyes had installed at their house showed Cecilia going in but not coming out.

And...

Police won’t talk about the case, saying only that it’s in the hands of homicide investigators.

2012 – Cecilia moved from Houston to San Antonio with her two children. She worked as a cashier at a gas station where she met RG. They soon married and had two children, now 6 and 7. Cecilia stopped working and was a homemaker before she began studying to get into the health care field.

2014 - The family moved to their home in the 5600 block of Southwick.

Dec 2016 - Cecilia became a CNA.

Jul 2017 - Cecilia started working at St. Francis.

• Cecilia was at work; her shift was scheduled to end at 11 p.m.
• Cecilia’s brother, JD, talked with her on the phone (time unknown). She told him that she feared something was going to happen, that she needed to go home and watch her kids.
• 6:40 p.m. RG arrived at St. Francis where he and Cecilia had an encounter, seen on video.
• “You can tell that she’s uncomfortable,” Rozmiarek said. “He came very close and she took a few steps back up into the wall.”
• 7:20 p.m. Cecilia left work after she went to the head nurse to explain that she had to leave to check on her children.

Jul 8, 2019 (Morning) - RG, called 911 to report his wife had assaulted him in their home. He told officers Cecilia then said she was leaving the family and took off with an unnamed man who was waiting in a car outside.

Very true. Hopefully, the distance between Houston and San Antonio (about three hours) is somewhat of an obstacle but I sure wouldn't count on it if I were her. MOO

Search for missing mother continues

Summary:

Cecelia's husband, 34-year-old Reyes Gallegos, has been arrested. He was booked on assault charges after police say he punched his wife's friend but he hasn't been charged with his wife's disappearance.

Cecelia's friend said she told them that she was having marital problems and that her husband was violent. Her friend said she told them that if she went missing, to question her husband.
