Ramon Escobar: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

    Sep 26, 2018

"Officials have arrested a Houston man, Ramon Escobar, in connection with a series of murders in California, and now have named him a “person of interest” in two mysterious disappearances in Houston, Texas. When Dina Martinez from Houston didn’t return home after she left to search for her missing brother, Rogelio Martinez, in August, her family was beside themselves with worry. They have been searching for Dina and Rogelio, seeking any clues they can find in the siblings’ mysterious disappearance. Now their nephew, Ramon Escobar, has been named a person of interest, just after being arrested as a suspect in the beatings and murders of homeless men in California. Authorities say that he has was deported multiple times before he was granted an appeal. Officials are trying to unravel just what happened to Dina and Rogelio, and if Escobar was involved.

Here is what you need to know about Ramon Escobar and the disappearance of his aunt and uncle...."

He's a one man crime wave, and vicious with it, it seems. I wonder who thought letting him have an appeal and be on the loose was a good idea?

I read in this thread that the sister travelled with a relative to her brothers house when she disappeared? Could that relative been the suspect? He was a relative right?

Agreed. Looking at his rap sheet and FB he is one hurt and revengeful person. If what he displays in FB is true someone did him wrong and I get the feeling its family and he does not care anymore and sees himself as powerful since his evil acts. IMO

That, combined with mental illness. His family has commented in the news media how he had stopped taking his medication making him extremely difficult to deal with. He probably had the usual resentment some mentally ill people have towards family when they don't understand why family rejects them when they're off medication. The mentally ill person thinks their behavior is fine, they feel great. They don't realize how bad their behavior is and how much stress it places on family members.

Ramon's family had probably been dealing with this for many years, taking him in, trying to get him back on medication, helping him find a job, etc. His uncle Rogerio had recently taken him in again to give him a place to live. That likely came with rules he didn't like. It sounds like Ramon's mental problems and behaviors were growing worse (sometimes the result of using MJ or other drugs). His family was likely increasingly frustrated and unhappy dealing with the repeating cycle of his mental illness. Can't blame them.

When Rogerio disappeared, the family was probably worried, but hoping Ramon wasn't involved. He didn't have much record of violence before then. Ramon probably told his aunt he knew where Rogerio might be and said he would take her there. That was very risky for her to do, but she probably didn't think her nephew would harm her. He did, JMO.

Unfortunately too many times relatives have traveled the "we are related, they won't hurt me," route. Too much trust in family members, which is very sad but happens all too frequently.

Was looking for an update and found this :

Suspect in California deaths was questioned in Texas
LOS ANGELES—Houston police said Wednesday that a background check of a man with a long criminal and immigration history showed no outstanding warrants, so authorities released him shortly before he allegedly beat three men to death in California.

I can’t find anything revealing who the relative was that drove with the sister that went to her brothers house to go find him. But the suspect moved into the brothers house a few days before the brother went missing. I definitely think the suspect had something to do with the brothers disappearance. Maybe he killed him so he could live in the house. And maybe when the sister came over to look for her brother, the suspect thot he has to make her disappear too. Then both brother and sister were maybe put in the van and set alight. Or maybe he went with the sister to look for her brother knowing when she got there, the suspect had to make her disappear too. Same horrible ending. All IMO

Unfortunately it doesn't look like their bodies will be recovered. Reports say they were put into dumpsters around Houston and are most likely in an "unknown" landfill? Reminds me of Tynesha Stewart, just terrible...

Santa Monica Sued In Death Of Man Killed While Sleeping
The San Gabriel fisherman was killed while sleeping in a hammock under the Santa Monica Pier nearly a year ago.

    Sep 5, 2019

"SANTA MONICA, CA — The city of Santa Monica and other parties were named as defendants in a lawsuit filed Wednesday on behalf of the minor son of a fisherman slain while sleeping in a hammock under the Santa Monica Pier nearly a year ago.

The Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit additionally names the Santa Monica Pier Corp., the city of Los Angeles and the state of California, alleging negligence, premises liability and dangerous condition of property in connection with the Sept. 20 death of the boy's father, 39-year-old Steven Ray Cruze Jr. of San Gabriel.

Cruze slept under the pier to avoid driving home at night, according to the suit.

The plaintiff is identified only as J.C. in the 10-page complaint, which does not reveal the boy's age....

A mental competency hearing is scheduled Oct. 17 for Cruze's alleged killer, Ramon Escobar. The 47-year-old defendant is charged in a series of attacks in Los Angeles and Santa Monica that left a total of four men dead and eight other people injured -- some of whom were homeless.

He is charged with four counts of murder, eight counts of attempted murder and six counts of second-degree robbery stemming from his alleged crime spree between Sept. 8 and Sept. 24 last year....

"I think it was a crime of opportunity," he said. "... It appears the motive in most of these cases was robbery."..."
