GUILTY TX - Donna Self, 40, found murdered, Elgin, 27 Nov 2010

On November 27, 2010 at approximately 9:20am, the body of a white female was found alongside the roadway in the 900 block of Old McDade Road in Elgin, Texas. Bastrop County Deputy Molly Davis was on routine patrol when she observed some bedding items that appeared to be suspicious. Upon closer examination the body was discovered.

On November 28, 2010, an autopsy was performed by the Travis County Medical Examiner who has ruled the death as a homicide. The deceased was identified as:

Donna Marie Self W/F DOB: 5/28/1970

The trial of Isaac Anthony Martinez, 40, was cut short last week by his plea of guilty and subsequent sentencing in the 2010 murder of Donna Marie Self...

Martinez was indicted on Sept. 4, 2013, after the Texas Department of Public Safety crime laboratory matched DNA from Self’s body to him. Martinez’s indictment alleges Self was strangled and struck with an unknown blunt or sharp object causing blunt force trauma...

Martinez will have to serve half of his 40-year sentence before he is eligible for parole.
