A gunman is at large in a hijacked mail truck and "shooting at random people" in Odessa, Texas, police warned.

Multiple people have been shot, said police.

"Everyone is encouraged to get off the road and use extreme caution!" said Odessa police.

The Midland Police Department said two suspected gunmen are believed to be at large, after reports of a shooter at a Home Depot in Odessa.

"We believe there are two shooters in two separate vehicles. One suspect is believed to be at the Cinergy in Midland and the other is believed to be driving on Loop 250 in Midland," said Midland police. "The two vehicles in question are a gold/white small Toyota truck and a USPS postal van. Please stay away from these areas and stay indoors."

I’m wondering if this is in fact one shooter, and not the reported two.

There is always a great deal of confusion in these situations, and it usually winds up being a lone gunman.

Someone who is moving around and changing vehicles, could easily add to the confusion.

    We’ll see.

I hope you are right about the one shooter! That is often the case, though my mind went to the father and son shooting duo a few years ago, though I think they both were in one car, not two, when they shot.

What a terrifying incident - so many people drive without being tuned into the local news and wouldn't know to avoid the roads.

The longer this goes on, and with no further reports of additional shootings; I think this is over.

We have reports of an arrest, and things seem to have quieted down.

    Standard lone wolf I think.

Wow! Some kind of active situation on the CBS7 livestream--they just PULLED the anchors.

ETA: Is their studio located IN Music City Mall? They seem to be witnessing people running in the mall and armed officers clearing the mall? And the anchors are under the desk?
