Heidi Broussard and her 2-week-old daughter Margot Carey were last seen Thursday, Dec. 12, at 7:30 a.m. when Broussard dropped off another child at Cowan Elementary School. Police believe they returned to their home near West William Cannon Drive and South First Street afterward, but they haven’t been seen since.
Broussard is 33 years old, 5-foot-3, 150 pounds with long, dark hair with highlights.

I believe LE had every legal right to enter that home for endangered Baby Margot, especially after talking to her 'boyfriend'.

“The reason I jumped over the fence was because there was a kidnapped baby inside this house,” he later told the defense when they cross-examined him.

The next witness, and the witness that was left on the stand before the court broke for lunch, was Daron Parker, a Texas Ranger. Parker was one of the first to make contact with Fieramusca as law enforcement approached the Houston suburb home, he said.
He was also assigned to stand with Fieramusca between the time law enforcement made contact with her until roughly eight hours later, when someone from the Austin Police Department took over. Parker had an audio recording device on him which recorded that roughly eight-hour interaction, he testified.

The state cited three exceptions justifying the search and seizure of the home at that time: 1) law enforcement isn’t required to show probable cause when action is immediately necessary to protect human life, 2) there was an objective standard of reasonableness to enter, given the facts and circumstances of the case and 3) consent was given by someone authorized to provide consent, allowing Texas Rangers to enter the home without a warrant.
The state called its first witness, who was the lead detective on the case and is now a sergeant. He explained all the events leading up to Texas Rangers entering the home.
He recalled how he was first notified of the disappearance of Broussard and her newborn on Dec. 12, 2019. He explained the case became a high priority after speaking with the baby’s father, Shane Carey, and learning items necessary to care for a newborn were still at Broussard’s apartment. There were also medical concerns, due to the baby having jaundice.
The sergeant then stated multiple agencies got involved, including the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Rangers and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, as well as a number of local agencies and nonprofits. The FBI also deployed its Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Unit and set up a command post at an Austin Police Department office in south Austin, according to the sergeant.
He explained how Fieramusca became a person of interest after speaking with Carey, who told him at the time a friend of Broussard’s had a pregnancy around the same time, but there weren’t any pictures of the baby. A search for Fieramusca’s Facebook page found the account had been deleted, which the former detective also found to be unusual, given the timing.
The sergeant told the court officers went to the hospital where Broussard’s baby was born, and nurses told them they remembered Fieramusca being there and wanting to hold the child before the actual family could.
The detective said video footage obtained by APD showed Fieramusca’s car at Broussard’s apartment and confirmed the car was driving in from Houston to Austin on the day of the baby’s birth.
The sergeant recalled a neighbor at the apartment complex stated she saw the same car on the day they went missing, where a white woman was seen holding a baby and getting into the car and driving off.
Texas Rangers stopped a man, Chris Green, who was buying baby products. Green said he was previously in a relationship with Fieramusca, and they still lived together. Green stated Fieramusca had just gotten home with their newborn baby on the same day Broussard and her baby went missing in Austin, according to the sergeant. When Texas Rangers showed Green a picture of the missing baby, Green confirmed that was the same baby in Fieramusca’s home.

A hearing for a Texas woman accused of killing her best friend and kidnapping her baby is underway in Travis County.
According to court documents, the hearing is in connection with capital murder charges against Magen Fieramusca, who stands accused of killing her friend, Heidi Broussard, in 2019, then kidnapping her newborn daughter. Fieramusca, 36, is also charged with tampering with evidence. She’s been behind bars since December 2019, awaiting trial. Her bond is $1.6 million.
The defendant’s lawyers argued last week that prior to entering the home where the defendant was found, investigators didn’t get a search warrant. In turn, the defense is requesting a motion to suppress the evidence found during the search.
Although a warrant was issued later on the evening in question, the defense said investigators entered the home without probable cause. The state, however, argued that law enforcement doesn’t need probable cause if human life is in danger. Further, the state said someone authorized to give consent did indeed give Texas Rangers consent to search the home, according to KXAN.
The lead detective on the case (now a sergeant) testified that Fieramusca landed on his radar after Broussard’s fiancee, SahenCarey, who said Fieramusca was pregnant around the same time as Heidi, but there were no photos of her baby. Fieramusca also allegedly deleted her Facebook after Heidi disappeared, which the detective found troubling.
He also stated that nurses at the hospital where Heidi gave birth remembered the defendant showing up and wanting to hold Heidi’s newborn before the family did.

From the above news reports from the last court date, 'closing arguments' and the judge's ruling on whether the evidence collected prior to a search warrant being issued will be held April 28th, which date is showing in the court docket, so we wait another month for this pretrial hearing. Wonder how long before the actual trial commences?:

A video of the interview played in court with Green raising concerns about the child’s safety with Fieramusca. He is heard telling law enforcement officers, "go get that baby, what are y’all waiting for?"
Herries testified they believed baby Margo had jaundice and that based on the information he had, the situation could be life-threatening, one of the reasons why they didn’t wait for a search warrant.

*Motions Hearing & Ruling (@ 9:15am CT) - TX - Heidi Elizabeth Broussard (33) & Margo(t) Elizabeth Carey (2 wks.) (missing on Dec. 12, 2019, Austin; found Dec. 19, 2019, Heidi deceased inside trunk of car (2015 Nissan Versa) owned by Magen at Jersey Village near Houston; baby Margo(t) alive & healthy). *Magen Rose Fieramusca (33/now 36) aka Maygen Humphrey, Magan (& Magen) Rose Humphrey, Maygen Fieramusca, May Humphrey & May Fieramusca arrested (12/19/19) & charged (12/20/19) with 2 counts of 3rd degree kidnapping & 1 count of 2nd degree tampering with a human corpse. $600K bond.
Indicted & recharged (1/28/20) with 1 count of capital murder by terror threat & 2 counts of 3rd degree kidnapping (Margo(t)) & 1 count of tampering with evidence. $1M bond (on murder).
