DA John Hubert is a superb prosecutor and a humble man who feels great compassion for and responsibility to the victims he represents. What happened to the Butlers is truly horrific but John Hubert will ensure that justice is delivered, and in a professional, thorough manner.

On a side note, Hubert is handsome, gracious and wears a cowboy hat everyday. Welcome to the best of South Texas.
Nice to know. Here's to hoping the best of South Texas shows those two lowlifes from Utah what's coming to them.

I don’t see this guy as needing to be forced into doing anything. Their camper has been described as dilapidated and in poor shape.

It's one thing to covet someone else's camper truck, it's something altogether different to decide to murder to steal one. Someone came up with the idea to steal a nicer lifestyle, and someone came up with the idea to kill to steal. Was that the person who did the killing?

Who else but someone familiar with the area would share the inside tip that it's free 3 miles South? Why pay another week of service when it's free. Were they inclined to go for a freebie if the person offering the freebie seemed friendly and familiar?

What if an illegal Mexican told the couple that after 2 weeks paying fees that they could get it all free 3 miles South? Would they pack up and move 3 miles South?

From the sounds of it, I would say no.
Not sure what to think of it that these beaches show up on free or low-cost camping sites all the time. I doubt that the Rv attributed to the suspects would be able to be in an RV park. I think that’s why it ended up at the bingo place.

Were the cats microchipped? I bet they were. That would sure help if someone finds a lost cat or two or three.

I think the domestic cats had no chance in the wild.

So the Butlers were at the RV Park, and the suspects probably couldn't pay to park there, or their vehicles were too run down to be part of the community?

Where do you think they might have first met? I thought it was at the campground, but if the female suspect registered the Butler's vehicles at the campground, that suggests that the suspects had the vehicles on the day the Butlers arrived on the beach.

Did the Butlers play Bingo?

BBM

Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office officials said they are investigating scores of leads in the case. District Attorney John Hubert said Tuesday that they are still unraveling Williams’s role in what happened.

“We’re getting so many leads and so many different avenues that we have to track down and go through that we haven’t actually completed with all the evidence that we have on hand at this time,” he said. “So I hesitate to say that this is all — that this is what we’re charging him.”

Williams is being held on $1 million bond, according to sheriff's office records.

I feel bad to post because I’m once again speed-reading, but is there a chance that the arrested couple didn’t commit the murders? Could they have stolen the truck/rv because it appeared abandoned after someone else murdered the Butlers?

I thought I had read that the perps had a truck and a camper of their own that was dilapidated. It was towed from the casino or a bingo place as it had been abandoned there for a number of days. Wow, I don’t know about the registration.

I think I believe the guy who said he saw the perps on the beach with a truck and a dilapidated trailer. It’s not impossible that the Butlers passed them on their way to their site. They may have heard of camping on the beach from a perfectly innocent source such as the sites that I have quoted here. If I could get two weeks free during what is high season for the Rio Grande Valley, I would probably do it, too. I also don’t think that it’s too far-fetched to consider that perhaps Mr. Williams is some sort of meth cook. That five day span bothers me but it would provide time to put together some product and offload it.

I wondered that too, or whether they bought the camper trailer cheap in the Bingo parking lot. They picked up the trailer the next day and left maybe?

I'm curious about the drone footage that investigators had not yet requested/reviewed in the last couple of days. That could clear up any question of whether the suspects were on the same beach between Oct 14 and 16.

I'd say yes to your "are we safe question" and no to being "detected." Pretty sure admin takes our personal identities seriously.

Not sure why you're asking? Are you worried about something?

ETA You don't have to answer my questions, of course, especially if you are worried about something. I wasn't meaning to pry.
Yes just a lil... lol I'll get passed it... just a lil spooked I think from seeing something I think could be a issue

That's interesting - the possibility that the Butlers stumbled onto something and were killed, especially given his military status, and they had a nicer truck.

I feel like that is the a possible angel they are hoping for.... just one of a few. Creating doubt ahead of time. I think they had help

There may be more suspects, but these two are good enough for now.
The drone footage sounded promising. Hopefully investigators are looking at it and learning more about the suspects.

Park Ranger reports she stopped ACW on Oct 13th aprox 5:38pm in a grey Chevy Silverado with Utah plates.
Silver Chevy Silverado and RV Utah plates in Weber parking lot on Thurs Oct 17, Fri Oct 18 and Saturday Oct 19 TexStar Wrecker Services picked up Chevy and RV. Then the Chevy and RV are crossing the boarder of Mexico on Oct 21st. (I have my own thoughts on this...back to they had help)
