Oh my...
A relative on King's mother's side wants everyone to know that he and his relatives are not like the paternal relatives. He says the family is fearful for their safety and so did not want to be on camera. He says the last time he saw King was last Friday (January 11?? On the video he said "Friday," not last Friday as the article stated so there may be a miscommunication ). The article also says there could be more arrests.
Relative of King Jay Davila breaks silence

And local news reports about fake fundraisers on for baby King's burial. I saw one, started 4 days ago, asking for 10K. It's still up.
Eagles Flight CEO Pamela Allen is warning people about the pages circulating online. She said that you shouldn't give to them. KENS 5 found one online that was created on January 11. It is asking for $10,000 for the burial of King Jay. Castle Ridge Funeral Home will pay for King Jay's funeral and nonprofit Any Baby Can is donating a burial site.

"We don't need to have accounts," Allen said.

She said Castle Ridge Funeral Home will pay for King Jay's funeral. She also said Any Baby Can, a local nonprofit, has donated a site for him to be buried. She said the family is aware of the plans.

"There is no reason for accounts to start," she said. "There is no reason for people to be standing out with his picture trying to collect money."

And finally...
Two of three people charged in connection with the disappearance of baby King Jay Davila have been targets of aggression in recent days while in custody at the Bexar County Jail.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Angie Torres, 45, was attacked by three inmates on Jan. 9 while in a bathroom.
...
Sampayo is spat on
In an unrelated incident, authorities said an inmate spit on Sampayo on Jan. 11 as she was being escorted from her cell in the infirmary. Sampayo declined to press charges against the inmate, authorities said.

Sampayo signed paperwork agreeing to be placed in protective custody when she was booked and is being kept in the infirmary due to a health condition.

No worries JC40, except for the last links about the suspects being attacked in jail what I inserted into the quote boxes and my own summaries are pretty much it. The statement about LE testing the baby bottle the mother JG claimed to have found in the park was in the article about fake campaigns.

Here's a different link. It doesn't include the baby bottle statement but the rest is nearly identical. I'm getting a "bad request" notice on the KENS5 link. Don't know what that's about...

Oh @MsMarple !! :)

SAN ANTONIO - Two of three people charged in connection with the disappearance of baby King Jay Davila have been targets of aggression in recent days while in custody at the Bexar County Jail.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Angie Torres, 45, was attacked by three inmates on Jan. 9 while in a bathroom.
[...]
The Sheriff's Office explained Wednesday that Torres had the option of going into protective custody due to the high-profile nature of the case, but first selected to be placed among the general population. After the Jan. 9 assault, Torres was placed into protective custody. The Sheriff's Office declined to release information on the extent of Torres' injuries, citing HIPAA. The three inmates accused of attacking Torres remain under criminal investigation for the beating but have not been formally charged.

Davila in protective custody
Authorities said Davila was initially placed in administrative segregation, citing his gang affiliation, but later changed to protective custody due to the nature of the charges against him.

Inmates who opt in to administrative segregation or protective custody are kept in isolation for 23 hours a day and are given an hour to bathe, make a phone call and go to the day room, the Sheriff's Office said. Inmates are also escorted by a deputy at all times while moving throughout the facility.

There are no material differences in the treatment of inmates in administrative segregation and protective custody, but the reasons why someone is given such a designation differ.

Administrative segregation is sometimes used as a disciplinary measure, or for inmates who claim gang affiliation or have behavioral issues. Meanwhile, protective custody is an option offered to individuals who are charged with sex crimes or are involved in high-profile cases, for their own safety, officials said Wednesday afternoon.

ETA: While this article does not indicate whether or not CD "opted-in" for Administrative Segregation, I believe the questions about gang affiliation have now been confirmed by LE. Also, answers my own questions of why CD involved so many others to cover-up the death of baby KJ. MOO

While authorities believe the body Davila led them to late Friday night is King Jay, the medical examiner has not yet concluded its autopsy on the infant and has not positively identified the remains.

With the autopsy still outstanding, a funeral date has not been set. However, King Jay's mother, Jasmine Gonzales, said it will be a private ceremony.

The Castle Ridge Funeral Home has volunteered to pay for the infant’s funeral, and the cost of the burial will be covered by the nonprofit Any Baby Can.

RSBBM

Good.

May more of same be visited upon all three of them during their one hour out of the box. Disgusting people.

Rest in heaven, little man.

I had to come check on Baby King's thread after following Casey Hathaway's case and him being found alive and well. So sad this little one was hurt by those who should have loved and protected him the most. :(

Hope all the defendants are feeling the pain while they're sitting in jail.

SAN ANTONIO - The death of 8-month-old King Jay Davila has been ruled a homicide by "blunt force injuries," the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office said Friday.

The ruling comes three weeks after San Antonio police found King Jay's body in a backpack buried in an open field near the home of the baby's father, Christopher Davila.

On Jan. 10, Christopher Davila, 34, admitted to detectives he buried his son and took investigators to the burial site, which is less than a mile from his last known address in the 5800 block of Castle Brook Drive.

Thanks Jo in Calif! Now let's all cross our fingers that the charges will be upped to murder.
