GUILTY TX - Melissa Affatato, 26, murdered in her Dallas home, 9 Feb 2011

Michael Paul Lucking, 40, has been accused of killing his girlfriend in Texas and then driving to Atlanta and confessing to his estranged wife.
Dallas police reported he shot his girlfriend in the head during an argument, dragged her body into a bathtub, then drove to Atlanta where he told his wife what he had done. Lucking's wife then called police.

Officers found Melissa Ann Affatato, 26, dead in a bathtub. Inside the apartment, investigators found hundreds of rounds of ammunition and several guns, including the suspected murder weapon, believed to belong to Lucking.

Lucking & Affatato met at a strip club where she worked.

“It’s a senseless, brutal killing,” Dallas police homicide Sgt. Ray Beaudreault said “He met this girl and brought her to Dallas. … He ends up, because of whatever argument they had, shooting her and dragging her to the bathtub when she still had some life in her, which shows you the brutality this individual had and the anger he has inside him.”

That's really odd the guy would drive all the way back to Atlanta and confess to his ex. What's up with that?

A 41-year-old man who shot his girlfriend in the head and dragged her dying body into a bathtub earlier this year pleaded guilty to murder Friday in exchange for a 40-year prison sentence, according to the Dallas County district attorney’s office.
