Apparently MC did an interview with Doctor Phil a day or two before confessing to the police.

In a brief statement, Stacey Luchs, a spokeswoman for the "Dr. Phil" show said, "Mr. Castellano sat down for an interview with Dr. Phil in Texas just before his confession to law enforcement, late last week. Dr. Phil also conducted an interview with Ms. Warner's family for this show, which is currently scheduled to air on Thursday."

This is pitiful and pathetic.So sad to hear. I'm glad he confessed, but it won't take much to get him out on bail! I don't think he should be given the chance to walk around free. Obviously the man is sick and most likely "could have enough" again and kill someone else, maybe his own child! Why would bail be set so low?? I can't believe he drove back and forth. Where was Michelle's body when he left the first time? in the Apt.? I did not expect him to look like he does, but he has a look about him that is scary. I so wish Michelle had been able to make it on her own or had some help somewhere, somehow...and not depended upon him for help. I pray no one bails him out and he sits in jail.

Castellano told the detective he grabbed her throat with both hands and threw her down to the bed. He heard her neck snap, and the apartment was quiet.

Their son walked around the corner and saw his mother's legs hanging off the bed.

"He told him that she was sleeping," Waters said. "He didn't have a plan what to do with the body. His first thought was to get (his son) Cayden out of the apartment."

Castellano put her body in a closet and called his parents in Odessa to ask if they could stay, telling them Warner had walked out again.

A good listener always gets the story right. I'll betting 2nd degree or manslaughter for the defense.

He must not have any priors since MSM has not listed any...and has Michele's.

Very sad for all the families indeed. The 3 yr old must be so confused and the 11 yr old devastated and left trying to understand the why. Prayers for comfort for them all.

OK so he was a 'battered bf' ; whatever happened to just walking away ?
All we have left now is Mark's version of events --he could say she was a major 'arms dealer' to Iraq and she wouldn't be able to refute it. The fact that he put her body in a container and disposed of it , does not (imo) point to someone who snapped and now feels sorry about what he has done.
I was hoping in a way that Michelle was having trouble with her prior addictions...at least she'd still be alive.
If they let him go sometime during his life, other women getter be wary ! jmo
My condolences to Michelles' family and esp. to her kids !

Mark is 6ft. and over 200lbs. -- Michelle wasn't able to physically defend herself very well ; she looks fairly slight in the pics. I wish she'd been able to get away from him before this happened !

While I do not believe the self-defense/battered man bit in this case, women often use it and are not believable either, IMO. It is all too easy when the other person is no longer around to give their version of events, and there are not always witnesses in these cases. I've seen cases where women have used this defense and I have not believed them for a second.

He placed a plastic bag over her head and secured it before placing her body in the closet. In the video, the judge also stated he had confessed to calling other persons and telling them what had transpired. Judge upped the bail to $150K from $50K...still not enough, imo. I still say defense will plead involuntary manslaughter.

I just saw this on Dr. Phil too! What a creeper this guy is. I simply cannot believe this guy would do this, with his child right in the next room. He claims he was "owned" by her, give me a break. She's a petite looking woman and he's got to be 200+ and is what we consider a bigger guy. He explained that she would hit him and such in the interview. What I don't understand is why he would live in the same apartment as her for all this time, if he was truly being abused by her. Like someone else mentioned, why not leave? He really is narcissistic and you can tell he has absolutely no remorse for what he's done. MOO, he knew he would kill her at some point and it only took one more small argument/fight until he couldn't take anymore and exploded. I feel for Michelle's family and for her little boy, now this poor child has neither of his parents there for him.

How would we feel if the wife killed the husband and claimed that he had been abusing her, etc? Would we be as harsh: Why didn't she just leave?

I am not saying that he should be let off by any means. I am just saying- IF he can prove he was abused by her, do you think his sentence should be lessened (like they have done in some situations when the wife was abused)

I just tuned into Dr. Phil . . . don't know much about this case but . . .

1) She basically owned him
2) She was on drugs
3) She hit him
4) Talks about Michelle in past tense

Dr. Phil asks about hard drives in computers....she took hard drives out of his truck - he is going to bring them out to show Dr. Phil saying "I don't have them - he is still copying them - a friend who is an IT Specialist is copying them".............Phil says you already told my producer they were not here - then told me you had them - then walked to the door and turned around saying you don't have them? (reminds me of CA walking down the Universal Hallway and then admitting she didn't work there)

She threw an ashtray @ him once, push each other around, there was one time I choked her, fingernails - she kept swinging, I grabbed her and pushed her off and choked her....she has (gone missing b4) but not since Caden was born.

Phil says she hasn't called anyone- alarmed many people.....

She loves both the kids, lives on caffeine and nicotine and doesn't want to change....

Mark C said I think she can't handle what her body is doing . . . she said she was going to die.....face had little spots (looks like a leper) . . . I knows sh was taking more and more adderal to lose weight but she was gaining...

I was concerned....she captivates the room when she walks in....she is mesmorizing..., ..

those people (who say he is psychotic) don't like him very much (he keeps smiling inapprpriately)

Denies foul play, denies killing her, . . . I let her run over me.....denies snapping and choking and killing her

She can come home and we can fix this and I will see to it she can get help.....Cayden is actually stable here for once in his life.....(he is tearing up) saying he is hurting inside....always ultimately rather hurt myself than anyone else....

I am more concerned about her . .. the anger was the first day.....with Michele leaving the way she did....talk about I'm gonna die....adding alcohol....she might have ran up against that wall....I don't think she would commit suicide - I think she ended up doing something that ended up taking her life..

Dr P - If you did something....a confession now would be a gift to your son....
No like I said.....she walked all over me....

Dr. P said 48 hrs later he finally confessed that he did kill her


(ETA.......IMO - this guy's emotional state is completely incongruent with the topic they are discussing . . . .smiling and smirking while talking about dead/ex.

He admits on Dr. Phil that he took her harddrives out of her computer - he says in retaliation for her taking 2 hard drives that belonged to him. He says that he will show the HD's to Dr. Phil, but then "remembers" at the last minute that he doesn't have them with him. He says that he gave the hard drives to a friend that works with computers.

What is on those hard drives? Has she been documenting abuse by him? Why did he take them? What did he try to erase from them? What evidence can be found on the Hard Drives?

I do NOT think that this was simply "self-defense". If so, his best bet would have been to call LE immediately.
