*Pretrial Conference Hearing (all charges) (@ 9am CT) - TX - Samuel Olson (5, would have been 6 on 5/29/21) (it was reported that he was taken by an unknown male from a southwest Houston home in the 8800 block of McAvoy Dr. at about 7:30am on May 27, 2021, but he had been missing for 2 weeks before this, found June 1, 2021 inside a tote bag in the Best Western motel in Jasper). – *Theresa Raye Balboa (29/now 30) arrested (6/2/21) & charged (7/8/21) & indicted (8/26/21) with tampering with evidence (human corpse). Bond $500K.
She was jailed on 6/2/21 & was extradited from Jasper County Jail to Harris County Thursday, 6/3/21.
*Charged (7/13/21) & indicted (8/26/21) with capital murder-under 10 years. Denied bond (7/8/21).
*Charged (11/29/20) & indicted (6/24/21) with assault (on family). Bond $5K. Bonded out on 11/29/20. Bond $100K (set on 6/7/21). Back in jail. Bond denied.
Trial set to begin on 2/20/23.

11/5/21 Update: Next motions hearing on 3/10/22 for all charges. 3/10/22 Update: Balboa was supposed to go before a judge Thursday morning. The hearing did not happen & the judge was furious. The latest update in this case is that there is a mountain of evidence that the defense team now has to sift through. The team (defense attorney Anthony Osso) said there is about a terabyte of information, with things like cellphone records, body camera footage, GPS location & other information from the investigation. The defense needs time to go through it all so they can start to build their case & also find the experts they need to analyze all the information. Judge Hazel Jones is asking if any more evidence may be handed over because she is trying to set a date for the next court hearing to keep things moving along. Family assault charge: Next attorney consultation hearing on 3/23/22 & for murder/tampering charge: Next motions hearing on 4/5/22.
3/23/22 Update: All charges have been combined. Defense request to reset hearings. Next for all charges: Motion to suppress evidence hearing on 1/20/23 & jury trial set to begin on 2/20/23. 4/4/22: Grant fund review jail calls & grant funds expert witness. 4/5/22: Grant funds expert witness. 6/7/22: Grand defense funds for DNA expert & grant funds for hire digital forensic expert. 10/6/22: Order: Granted sealed ex-parte motion. 1/12/23 Update: Motions hearing on 1/20/23 has been vacated. Next pretrial hearing on 1/27/23.

Old case -- don't recall all the details.

Not sure mom has a cause of action against anybody but the father that entrusted his child with the psycho. Family court is slow for everybody. Avoiding being served happens daily. Both parents lost a son and are victims. MOO

Sarah said she tried to work through the custody issues legally but described the court system as "slow." Her attorney said Dalton, who did not respond to ABC13's request for comment, avoided being served papers for months.

I'm glad the trial for the West boys is on break until April 10. Anticipating Gannon's trial and a hung jury for Isabel Celis putting me on thin ice. Not to mention the 9 yr old babies in TN... #savethechildren
