Longview police ask public's help to find missing woman

Longview police are asking the public’s help to find a woman they say has not been seen since late June.

The family of Shantay Levee Brown, 49, filed a report with police after relatives had not heard from her since then, according to police.

Brown is described as being about 5 feet tall and weighing about 110 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes, along with a scar on her chin.

Longview police are seeking leads after a tree clearing crew found human remains in the city. According to a news release, officers responded May 15 to a dead body call behind the Sunset Inn on W. Marshall Ave. Detectives found what appeared to be skeletal human remains that have been sent to the University of North Texas Forensic Anthropology for forensic and human identification.

The Longview Police Department is searching for a missing woman last heard by her family in June.

Longview police are searching for 49-year-old Shantay Levee Brown. She was reported missing to the department by her family after they hadn’t heard from her since June.

Brown is reported to be about 5′ tall and weighs about 110 pounds. She is reported to have black hair, brown eyes and a scar in the center of her chin.
