Identified! TX - Terrell, LIVING woman w/ amnesia, Aug'07 - Stacy Forbes

I wonder if she is suffering from a mental illness? Placement in Terrell State Hospital is usually reserved for those with severe and persistent mental illness. If she were functional, you'd think she might have been placed in a shelter or transitional housing. I don't think the "amnesia" diagnosis would merit her a spot in Terrell.

I've been wondering that myself, hence no interview w/her out in the media. If she disappeared from an institution, maybe they don't want to come forward and explain how she got away. She might not have any family either.

I guess about the only thing I'm happy about is that she's alive.

I've looked at most or all of the links but don't know if they are matches or not. My gut says no though, although there are some that are close.

I admire everyone's tenacity.

My gut says we haven't seen any matches yet, either. Some of the photos have more visual similarities, but the age would be wrong. This woman is late 20's early 30's, according to LE. The one picture that I thought would hold the most possibility turned out to be a woman who would be close to 45 now!

GOOD catch! This sounds like a possibility. Did you contact the poster for a pic?

I've sent a PM to monalisa and hopefully she checks often for messages, but in the event she doesn't she does have her phone # listed. (What a brave thing to do.) It's way too early for me to call right now because I'm just not sure Jasmine is even still missing, and by the time it's OK to call, I'll be at work.

Call me crazy . . . this woman HAS to be missed by someone. I went to google images and typed in *NAME* missing to see whose pictures would come up. Where it says *NAME*, enter any name you'd like. She appears to be born 1980ish. I selected names that were still popular than.
So, the search would be Michelle Missing, etc.

Michelle
Carol
Kathy
Kristina
Angie
Tammy
Deb
Gail
Holly
Heather
Jackie
etc.

I didn't come up with what I was hoping for. There are, however, so many missing people with those names it is UNBELIEVABLE! I am going to keep trying today to see if I can find anyone who is looking for her. I need to try "newer" names - Ashley, Taylor, Lindsay, etc.

Lauren was really popular back then. Sarah, too.

She looks about 33-35 to me. I hope she's not 22 and finds this thread. LOL

I am looking through top 100 girls' names of 1970's and 1980's. I've tried most of them. I need to dig further.

I have emailed the department of public safety to see if there are answers to the following questions:

Does this woman have an accent? Northern? Southern? New England?
Also, any identification on her glasses such as model number, etc?

Any special interests? Hobbies? Unusual characteristics?

If/When I hear back, I will respond.

There was a tiny little blurb, plus a picture in the Dallas Morning News this morning. It had the same text as the one from CBS 11. Sounds like the Terrell Police Dept released a press release.

I'm not sure. There isn't a good description of Jasmine, but I figure it's worth a shot! If she was 3 months pregnant when she disappeared-----the original post by monalisa was in late November, if I'm remembering correctly-----then a baby was born in May. Since there have been no updates by monalisa in all this time, I'm really hoping Jasmine has shown up and she and her children are safe.....but if not, I've invited monalisa to come to websleuths and post about Jasmine. Maybe we can help.

I haven't heard back, but if the poster doesn't check that website often, she may not get my PM.

Diagnostic criteria for 300.12 Dissociative Amnesia
(cautionary statement)

A. The predominant disturbance is one or more episodes of inability to recall important personal information, usually of a traumatic or stressful nature, that is too extensive to be explained by ordinary forgetfulness.
B. The disturbance does not occur exclusively during the course of Dissociative Identity Disorder, Dissociative Fugue, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Acute Stress Disorder, or Somatization Disorder and is not due to the direct physiological effects of a substance (e.g., a drug of abuse, a medication) or a neurological or other general medical condition (e.g., Amnestic Disorder Due to Head Trauma).
C. The symptoms cause clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning.
