In our Crossfit group, we had LE and FF there all the time. It only makes sense, because they have to stay in tip top shape for their work. Our FF lent us hoses to run with as one of the workouts. In a small town, it's slim pickins where you can go work out before your "real job" starts in the morning. The convenience of a 5 am class, be able to run home, take a shower and head off to work feeling great... is priceless.

I think I found the item SP carried out of the room in left hand. Could it be part of/cover of interior surveillance camera? (Sorry about the picture, but it is the best I could do, in finding a similar sized item that was correct shape, purpose and location.) Perhaps some of our more high tec, high resolution WS'ers can find & post a better shot. (Batbrat, Nin....IQ pal needs assistance on table #9?:crossfingers::crossfingers:)
btw, the one in the photo I posted is from a gun shop "set"....isn't that weird???

I totally agree, this is a contradiction from his comments to his mother that he was worried about MB but then did not think she was targeted.

BBM. I bet MB shared that with him. Otherwise, you're right, no qualms is right.. Especially if gettiing up that early is the norm, and you've been meeting there for months. OTOH... I will add.. I would never go into a vacant building alone...unarmed. (Too much CSI I guess..) MB may have tucked her gun (presuming she had one) in her waist. ESPECIALLY if I had received an odd message...

Or........He was checking up on her, suspicious what she might be doing while he was out of town, or.....making sure she was asleep so as not to be late for what was to happen the next am.....IMO

    IMO...
IF MB was acting differently, receiving odd LI messages, BB telling her to be careful in recent days before murder, I would assume she would have taken steps to reduce ANNOUNCING her early AM whereabouts.

FB has private groups you can create for alerting and communicating with members.

To me, that is a rational action to protect yourself.

NOT blaming MB whatsoever. Just maybe she wasn't as concerned as others may think.

Or she was one to put it all out there regardless.

IDK. Just thinking out loud. [emoji848]

Depends on the meaning of "targeting". When he initially said he didn't think she was targeted, he could have meant that the perp wasn't someone who knew her and went there to kill her. I think he thought as police did that it was a botched robbery, then saw the video and changed his mind. And IMHO it would be considered targeting if the killer knew Missy, OR if the killer didn't know her socially but became aware of a convenient scenario for a thrill kill. I don't think it's clear which of those two targeting scenarios he believes now.

    From the video posted:
I don't think BB told this to Missy the night before he left to go fishing but in the most recent weeks before she died. She became fearful, withdrawn for a reason and skipped working out at the gym. Someone was playing psychological games with her; i.e. vis a vis the LinkedIn mystery message.

To be prepared for what? A stormy morning drive? Speeding will cost you an expensive ticket we can't afford? You may have a flat tire? A killer dressed in SWAT gear may get cha?

When someone I know and love leaves, I tell them, "please be so careful" or "text me when ya get home" or "drive carefully" even if they were departing at 4 in the morning to get somewhere.

When your husband says: "Be prepared." What exactly could that mean to Missy?

Montjoy, you keep me grounded. I'm in my 60's and grew up in the days when my grandmother and mother would 'tell it like it is', no matter who got hurt.
It's very difficult for me sometimes because I have some very strong opinions that I know are controversial, but have a hard time keeping to myself.
When I read your posts, it reminds me to slow down and rethink before I post. (I can't promise that will always happen but I try). I try to keep an open mind and to be fair to all involved. As someone said (a fb post) "Sometimes I open my mouth and my mother comes out."

Either it was a poor choice of words or an omen or _________. Ya know...

The circumstances leading up to this murder are not coincidental IMO. And I betcha LE has even more suspicious activity that they are keeping.

To me, "be prepared" means, 'carry your handgun with you, just in case'.

Missy did not drive a car. The last time that they spoke was two brief times the evening before. BB never mentioned telling her to be careful. They reminded each other of their love for one another. "To be prepared" does not sound like: "Honey, if you break a leg, be prepared."

BB did not say it that day because the last time he spoke to her was the night before. The MIL indicates BB had told Missy "to be prepared"; therefore, imo, that sounds as if it was a recent pronouncement that was not within days but within a couple of weeks of her murder or at least long enough for the MIL to be told about it.

Somebody here on WS has a tagline that says "There are no coincidences.. only clues." (or something to that effect.)

And from this interview with MT

“The morning before we knew anything had happened, he said ‘I’ve told her, I’ve told her she’s got to be careful.’ He was just so afraid something would happen,” said Tucker, who admitted Missy was very trusting. “She might have been a little too naive for her own good, but she was a trusting soul. I guess she just thought everyone was good.” http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2016/04/20/...dlothian-mother-was-worried-about-her-safety/

LARGE-HAMMER.jpg I see a lot of speculation on the tool that the killer is carrying. It's a hammer. 2016-04-23_18-45-36.jpg 2016-04-21_9-53-12.jpg

I agree there estimates were off. I did my own analysis when they released the video.
