Found Deceased TX - Tiffany Kelly, 33, Euless, 18 November 2014

I'm thinking a pelvic bone would automatically determine gender...

Depends on which pelvic bone and if female, if she had any full-term child deliveries. Appearance could be different if a woman had a C-Section or vaginal child-birth as well.

People could be ruled out pretty quickly based on obvious medical devices or lack there of.

Also, the body could be obviously female if she had had a breast augmentation, even if there was substantial decomposition.

Just a thought.
Males get breast augmentations, too. ;)

So we have the person who found her stating she was obviously female and there was a strong foul odor and she seemed to have been stuffed into the drain pipe. LE is more tight lipped and says body extremely decomposed (but apparently not skeletal)

I was not aware there was a jogging trail that runs around the entire lake, so my question would be how popular is this jogging trail this time of year? (reminds me of April Milsap in MI who was murdered along a popular biking jogging trail) The person finding the remains seems to have been immediately drawn to investigate that strong smell. So can that mean the body was not there in that specific location long? Could she have been submerged in the lake or beneath something heavy in the drainage pipe only to be forced up and out into an area where she could be seen and smelled only recently? If so how could that assist in dating the remains? Are there sources of running water leading into the lake which could rise or lower based on rainfall, etc?

So many questions. I have such respect for those who can work these unidentified cases. Mad Mad props.

This is from one of the initial articles: "The recent rains may have washed the body parts out of the drainage pipe, according to Dallas police." http://www.myfoxdfw.com/story/27752622/human-body-parts-discovered-in-dallas

This is what the area looks like in Google street view: https://goo.gl/maps/ocpGn Sorry, I can't get the picture to display directly. This is the address given in the article. There's absolutely no place to hide anything. And I think I can see the end of the drain pipe next to the water, in front of that garbage can. It looks like it's probably to carry runoff from the airport under the road into the lake.

SO my next question is what is the source of the water in the drainage pipe? Is it a creek or river that feeds the lake via a drainage pipe. Is the drainage pipe fed from storm sewer run-off? Sorry so many questions just rying to get a feel for how she came to end where she did. Was she dumped into a storm sewer miles down the road to end there after heavy rains forced her along some pipe or was she submerged or weighted down in a body of water which then rose, shifting her remains to force them through the pipe closer to the lake and jogging trail? Is there some way to find out the exact nature of the drainage pipe ie. what was it draining from sewers or feeder creeks or road runoff?

I don't think we have any information about where the drainage comes from. I was guessing just from the lay of the land that it was runoff from the Love Field runways, more of a storm drain than a real channel, but it could be anything, really.

Good eye. And just a few feet over is this one, with a manhole cover nearby on the street: http://goo.gl/maps/t8lUt

dang kids! Don't they know I need the broadband to load these maps. *looks to the clock to see how close bed time is*

The person discovered what appeared to be parts of a deceased, naked female who had been stuffed inside the drainage pipe. The recent rains may have washed the body parts out of the drainage pipe, according to Dallas police.
http://www.myfoxdfw.com/story/277526...ered-in-dallas

Its confusing. Article says it was stuffed INSIDE the drainage pipe but then says it could have washed OUT of the drainage pipe.*
There is a big difference weather it was "placed" there or was flushed thru the system and "ended up" there.*

I was confused by that as well. But the article describes parts (as in disarticulated) so perhaps some parts were still stuffed inside the pipe while the ones that were initially noticed by the discoverer had been forced out of the pipe hence aiding in noticing and discovery?

I took it to mean she was kind of half in and half out.

So all manhole Covers around this that lead to this output nd to b investigated. I hope they are on that. It's sickening and obvious what was done to her. I suspect not a FRST time kill as well.

See if this helps illustrate what kind of drain pipe they might be talking about:

The red marker is 3600 Shorecrest. See the gray area to the right, just south of the road? I betcha there's a drainage pipe underneath the road right there and that's gray rock/gravel for erosion control where the water comes out. Looks like maybe overflow from the lake — from heavy rains, for example.

There's another possible drainage pipe up the road to the east, just out of frame. There are probably others in the area as well, but those two were obvious enough to jump out at me.

From the looks of the area, this section of the lakeside would be pretty quiet at night with just a tiny residential area wedged in between the two runways. After browsing street view on Google maps there seem to be many drain/manhole entrances and pipe exits in the area directly north of the runways. I can not see anything that looks to be a CCTV anywhere. There are a couple of road shoulders that seem to serve as parking for the lakeside walking trail where someone could park without drawing attention.

Upthread a sleuther commented that it may be a fairly recent disappearence as a strong odor was mentioned by the witness. Does anybody know if there is some kind of timeframe for these kind of observations? I remember living in a house once where a small mouse became trapped and died in a wall. The smell lasted a long, long time before we finally worked out what it was and where it was coming from.

See if this helps.

Thanks. I found the area you pointed out in street view, dated January 2013. There's some pretty serious washout there: https://goo.gl/maps/ACWXP

They might well have added another drainage pipe when they repaired the damage.

I know, Google maps is a real hog. I put them in links so at least they won't bog down anybody reading the thread.
