Does this Mo just own the tractor and hitches up various trailers?

    BREAKING:

A lorry driver is believed to have picked up a refrigerated container in Essex just minutes before the bodies of 39 people were found inside.

Mo Robinson, 25, had driven from his home in a small village near Portadown, Northern Ireland, over the weekend and collected the trailer from the port of Purfleet late last night.

Minutes later, his lorry was seen driving into the Waterglade Industrial Park in Thurrock, where ambulance crews and police were called and found 39 people dead in the back, including a teenager.

Truck driver arrested after 39 found dead in refrigerated lorry | Daily Mail Online

This explains why initial reports mentioned NI and Wales - the front of the lorry had done that particular journey, the trailer had come in from Belgium.

Someone else owns it, he drives it. He would go to locations and pick up a load and deliver to wherever, is my guess.

Sounds that way to me, too. It actually sounds like it was capable of being used as a freezer trailer, well below 0 farenheit. JMO.

A number of news outlets are saying the container was refrigerated - including Sky News:

"The cab and refrigerated container have now been moved to a secure location at Tilbury Docks where the bodies will be removed. They were discovered in the trailer at Waterglade Industrial Park."

Would have taken police approx. 15 minutes to transport the lorry from where it was found at Waterglade Industrial Park to the secure location at Tilbury Docks. I looked it up as I just wondered how long it would take.

Crikey. How were they expected to survive?

That poor guy, imagine what a terrible shock that must have been. Not something you would get over easily.

I just came across this. What a horrific incident!

Sounds like they possibly froze to death? RIP and prayers to their families. It's just so sad :(

I get the feeling Mo was possibly the one who called police since they were called right when he arrived at Waterglade. jmo

I was just about to say the same, what if he called the police? Would it still be procedure to arrest him?

I mean what if he had parked up, opened the trailer and discovered the victims... 39 of them. I can’t even imagine..

Investigation into crime gang launched after 39 bodies found in refrigerated lorry

'Experts said temperatures in refrigerated units can be as low as minus 25C.

Essex Police, who are being helped by immigration officials, said they believed the lorry and trailer had come from Zeebrugge into Purfleet, Essex, and docked in the Thurrock area, and that the tractor unit was believed to have originated in Northern Ireland.'

I suspect this is what happened. Maybe whomever drove them over was supposed to let them out. Maybe they knew they were dead so shut the doors. I suspect it would be standard to arrest the driver in these cases, they would be the first person who can provide information.

NEW: Police search teams have just arrived at Mo Robinson’s house in Northern Ireland. It’s understood he was driving the lorry in Essex today in which 39 people died. No suggestion at this stage he knew about any people in the container. @itvnews

I'm wondering the same. I'm going back through news stories and all I'm finding is police were called shortly after he arrived. No mention of who called or how they knew there was a monumental issue.
