The man found guilty of abducting and murdering five-year-old April Jones in a sexually motivated attack must spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Mark Bridger, 47, of Ceinws, Powys, said he had accidentally run April over near her Machynlleth home and could not recall where he had put her body.

But the Mold Crown Court jury unanimously convicted him in a case lasting four-and-a-half weeks.

Mark Bridger. The murderer. He says he accidentally ran over her body and he also says he can't remember where he put her body. I don't believe either of the things he is saying.

Oh, I don't think anybody believes him. I thought you might have meant that you didn't believe the man mentioned in the linked news report.

Nobody believes Mark Bridger. That old "I killed the child accidentally and then panicked and hid the body" is one of the stock excuses child killers use when they're caught. I've lost count of the amount of times I've heard that one, I've no idea why any of them still expect to be believed. Its as common as the "mysterious intruder" invented by someone who's killed a family member in their own home - only difference is I've seen a few cases where the mysterious intruder did turn out to be true, (Micheal Crowe, Kevin Fox), but I've never seen a single one where the "accident" turned out to be true.

What a bunch of crap his story is. So glad he is convicted. What a cowardly excuse for a person.

The bone fragments at his house must be what decided for LE to says she had been murdered way back at the time many still felt she was alive. LE generally has a good reason when they say someone is dead, IMO.

The parents of April Jones say they want to change the law to stop people being able to access websites which show indecent images of children.

Paul and Coral Jones have called for a system which sends out an alert if people are viewing such images

Sentencing Bridger, Mr Justice John Griffith Williams said: "For the last four weeks, the court has listened to compelling evidence of your guilt, evidence which has also demonstrated that you are a pathological and glib liar."
Bridger - only the 37th person to be given a whole-life tariff

Well done Justice Williams for the whole-life tariff. Fed up of dangerous offenders being let out of prison only to commit more heinous crimes..

I read a few months back, C L, the facebook creator of the original missing person page, saying in an interview that he had been offered payment to give the page over to some other advertising sites. Then a few weeks ago the page announced it was shutting down.

Now the page seems to have been taken over by a porn site

I wonder if CL decided to sell after all.

Child killer Mark Bridger has been attacked by a fellow prisoner less than two months into his whole life sentence.

The 47-year-old, who was jailed in May for abducting and murdering schoolgirl April Jones, was slashed with a makeshift blade during the attack as he walked along a gangway at HMP Wakefield in West Yorkshire.

Bridger reportedly suffered facial injuries and was taken to a local hospital where he was given stitches.

Prison officers stepped in to save him from further injury, according to The Sun newspaper.

    Absolutely heartbreaking.

I do not think they should have posted that monsters picture on this article, in fact on any article published from now on regarding April!
