What about the roundabout on the A15 between the pub and garden centre
I ofton look at roundabouts and wonder when the last time a human stepped on one was. Secluded places in a busy area!

Nobody would ever pass by or have reason to walk on one

I can't remember which newspaper I saw it in, but Police did search the fields around the barn. It does make sense for the pub car park to be a match for that Phone ping though.
The Police were pretty specific that it was in the vacinity of Uldale Way which gives you the street itself or the Harrier/Spar on the North side. Remember that the searches they did were months later when the vegetation had grown. This weekend is the anniversary so the vegetation will be much as the same when BW was killed.

.

I can see why you think this way but I would imagine that this is quite a risky choice for this crime. It is very close (just a few walking minutes) to dense residential population with footpaths and dog walking routes, busy thoroughfares and cycling routes.
My experience in lockdown was that the world and his wife was out walking dogs, jogging, cycling, strolling with mates, teenagers seeking outdoor adventures - just to grab some fresh air and a change of scene. I live in an area where we are just villages spread through our surrounding area and finding space to yourself, where you previously were used to finding it, was nigh on impossible! Particularly at midday on a Saturday afternoon in July. Even if he was lucky to stay invisible in the few minutes an actual murder may have taken, there would have been a struggle, screaming, and then attempting to conceal a body where a dog, or a person might discover it; in this potentially busy location, at this peak time, would be very risky indeed.
I am not familiar with the area just a few minutes further out of the city towards the fens, but I would imagine the further you go the less risk there is.
Horses can be found anywhere if you are looking for them and you have a car at your disposal, if you feel this is key ‘slippage’.
But then you need to factor in the phone pings and the missing time at either end of ScW's phone pinging the Gunthorpe mast that Saturday lunchtime. Plus the window of opportunity in the early hours in the dark and rain, again in the Gunthorpe area. He only needs the one opportunity. He's a 'man on the edge'. How much was instinct and how much planning?

I would find it highly unlikely that the roundabout was used either for a temporary site or burial site. The roundabout itself is adjoined by 5 exits, or which 2 are dual carriageways. To be able to cross over in to it would be risky, dangerous and way too likely to be spotted! MOO

I remembered seeing that too, so I just checked the PT website and they had this article on there. It doesn't mention the barn but they were parked in their carpark in the pictures.
Search for missing teenager Bernadette returns to Peterborough
Yes I've just been back to trawl the first thread. @*advertiser censored* Habilis made a post about police search team being based at the Barn Garden Centre and then there was this article -

"The murder investigation into missing teenager Bernadette Walker has returned to Peterborough, with search teams descending on water-filled ditches and nearby fields.

On October 1 the search for Bernadette Walker moved back to Gunthorpe near the city centre, and officers and police vehicles were spotted in the fields adjacent to the garden centre in that area.

Over the course of this weekend the search for Bernadette continued in the wind and rain around the same area of Peterborough.

On Sunday October 4, specialist officers also took to the water in the ditches around the Gunthorpe and Werrington areas of the city to continue the hunt."

A police spokeswoman said: "Searches have moved from Cowbit to the Gunthorpe area of Peterborough and we are expecting to be there for the whole week.

"Officers are currently searching fields between Gunthorpe and Newborough."

The Police searched Julie Hogg's house a number of times only for her body to be found under the bath three months later. Did they search the woods between Car Dyke and the A15? They thought this area may be significant back in October when the vegetation had grown. If I were searching now, revisiting this area would be top of my list.

....He came back in the dead of night on foot having left his car and phone at the Harrier pub car park north of Uldale Way.

RSBM

Have I missed an update where this pub car park was definitively identified as a stopping place for car AND phone?

To my certain knowledge, back in 2008 phones could be positioned to within 3m with later updates intended to give 1m resolution, so it would be possible to state precisely where the phone was last pinged.

And why leave the car when all you need do is leave the phone?

As I say, if I've missed this update, apologies!

The phone remained in the vacinity of Uldale Way in the early hours of the 19th. It has been speculated by some on this thread, including me, that the Harrier car park or adjacent Spar car park, would fit with this desciption, but it could equally be in the street. I can't recall what ScW said about this when asked what he was doing, other than reading about horse racing and sleeping. The family all seem to use expensive iphones. Why leave your iphone in the bushes when you can leave it safely locked inside your car? This is why I speculate that he was on foot.

The newborn baby, and the rest of the kids.
But why would she lose any of her children? She should have stuck by Bee sent ScW to stay with his parents not Bee. Supported her with her complaint to the police like any Caring decent Mother would have done. With ScW out of the house out of the family home there would be no reason to remove any of the children.

they haven’t searched anywhere really. That’s the sad part. They did a bit around cowbit and a bit at cuckoos hollow. They also asked scw to point to places on a map where she ran off…but of course they don’t exist!

personally I’m not as convinced by rails, as the place he was would be the posh-Spalding-Lincoln line and it’s largely inaccessible. There’s better places in my opinion.

However I do wish we had more efforts to search. Maybe I’ve missed it and there has been efforts, but I’m not seeing it
They were searching a lot around Gunthorpe and Werrington. I’m not sure how you’re saying they haven’t searched anywhere really, I know lots of people who had them in different areas who have seen them too.
A quick question for now, but does anyone know if railway sidings have been searched at any time by police? So far I've only heard about them searching rivers, fields, etc, and various buildings. We have railway lines in Peterborough, the mainline going North/South, and a branch going off east towards Ely/Cambridge areas.
When you say sidings what sidings are you referring to, I have a friend who works on the railway and I’ve asked him and he said around Peterborough there is a few sidings that can’t be accessed by the public.

You say that as though it's as easy as pie to do with 9 kids including some with disabilities and a newborn baby.

I'm not saying that how it panned out was in any way normal or the right thing to do but your idea of what you would do in her situation isn't based on lived experience ...
