Regardless of whether it's other family members or they're in foster care, I doubt they'll reveal that information as it could potentially reveal the identities of the children.

Barrass and Brandon Machin, 37, who is also accused of murdering the two boys, have their cases listed at Sheffield Crown Court today, where they are expected to enter their pleas to the charges.

At Sheffield Crown Court for the latest court appearance of two people accused of murdering two children in Shiregreen, Sheffield last month.

Sarah Barrass, of Gregg House Road, and Brandon Machin, of no fixed abode are accused of killing brothers Blake and Tristan Barrass. Sarah Barrass is also accused of three counts of attempted murder against two other children who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Blake was 14 and Tristan was 13 when they died last month. A High Court injunction banning the identification of four other children. covers social media comments, photos or anything else that could lead to their identification.

The hearing this morning is for plea and trial preparation, so there is a chance that the defendants could enter a plea to the charges they are accused of. Follow me for more updates throughout the morning.

Sarah Barrass is in court for the hearing this morning but Brandon Machin is appearing via video link.

Judge and prosecution taking about the likelihood of interviewing other children at witnesses in the case. The prosecution says they are currently ‘not minded’ to request that in this case although that could change.

It has been decided that the next hearing in this case will be on Monday, September 9. The judge, the lawyers and the local authority have agreed this will be a joint hearing of both the crown court and family division proceedings in the case.

Judge Roger Thomas QC fixed a trial date for 12 November and said Ms Barrass and Mr Machin would next appear on 21 June.

The judge restated the order imposing reporting restrictions on the press in this case but did say the media could report the defendants will be charged with ‘offences related’ to those already the public domain of murder and attempted murder.

The trial is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, November 12.

People living in Shiregreen raised a total of £3,015 towards the boys’ funerals but Michael Fogg, the funeral director, said the company was not charging the family and the money would be put into a trust fund for the four surviving children.

The two boys were among six children taken to hospital. The other four survived and have since been discharged.

Sheffield mum Sarah Barrass appears at court accused of murdering sons

No pleas were entered.

The Recorder of Sheffield, Judge Jeremy Richardson QC, remanded the pair into custody until their next hearing date on Friday, September 27.

A provisional trial date has been fixed for Tuesday, November 12.
