'Suspected human remains have been found in a field on the outskirts of Bristol, police have confirmed.

Avon and Somerset Police was called to Lyde Green just before midday on Tuesday, with fire crews also in attendance.

Forensic vehicles have been seen at Apple Grove, a cul-de-sac next to a green space and a lake.'

"Police and fire crews attended, and further searches will be carried out today, Wednesday 6 November. Detectives have not yet been able to identify the remains, and the death is currently being treated as unexplained pending a forensic post-mortem examination. Anyone with any information which could help the investigation is asked to call 101 and give the reference 5224291560."

''The human remains were found just a five-minute drive from a local primary school.''

Divers have searched a stream near where a decomposing body was discovered just yards from a Bristol housing estate.

The remains were found by a dogwalker in a field in Apple Grove, Emersons Green, just before midday on Tuesday.

The suspected human remains were discovered in the green area near a stream – a popular area for children to play at, according to local residents.

The body is reportedly decomposed and ‘skeletal.’

Been there a while then if skeletal. Jack mentioned above went missing in March, although 10 miles away, but still a possibility with warm weather and animal activity. I hope who ever this person is a family gets closure for their missing person :(

'Divers are scouring a stream after "human remains" were found by a dogwalker in a field close to a primary school.Mystery surrounds the discovery of an unidentified body in a quiet cul-de-sac near Lyde Green, Bristol, on Tuesday morning. The remains, said to be decomposed and "skeletal", were found by a local man walking his dog before emergency services descended on the scene.A police cordon has been in place since, with divers in wet suits seen meticulously combing a stream on Wednesday. An underwater search unit vehicle was also pictured at the scene.'

"When the guy went over to see what his dog was doing, it became obvious that the animal had discovered human remains partially buried in the field.
"It must’ve been absolutely, awful for the man.''
''A footpath over Folly Brook has been closed off, with the cul-de-sac filled with parked up emergency service vehicles.
One woman, who lives just yards away from the cordon, told MailOnline: "It's scary, why would a body suddenly turn up here?''

"Lots of people walk their dogs over the bridge and kids play very close to it.
"It's frightening for young children. I'm glad one of them didn't find it."

I'm surprised the remains went undiscovered long enough to get to the point of "skeletal" considering how populated they're saying that spot is with kids playing nearby, dog walkers etc. It certainly looks like somewhere that'd be well-trafficked just from the pictures.

I suppose they could have been moved by someone or even an animal
RIP

"Partially buried in the field". Whoever it is, they didn't partially bury themselves in the field, so that suggests it's a deliberate disposal.

“Police officers have identified human remains found in a field in South Gloucestershire earlier this month. David Wilson, 63, of Downend, who was reported missing in late September, has been identified as the deceased.

Police investigations at the time established that he had not been seen since mid-May this year. Avon and Somerset reported two appeals for information about his whereabouts, but unfortunately, no-one came forward with any confirmed sightings.”

“"Officers have found no evidence of suspicious circumstances and continue to treat the death as unexplained since a forensic post-mortem examination proved inconclusive.”

"Sadly, a forensic examination of the remains found in Emersons Green on Tuesday 5 November have now confirmed the identification. David’s next of kin have been updated, and we’re thinking of them."
