    Claudia Lawrence investigation
    http://www.northyorkshire.police.uk/13147

It is now six years since Claudia Lawrence disappeared without trace in York. Despite the intensive efforts of the police, the resolve of her heart-broken family and saturated media coverage, her sudden disappearance remains a mystery.

North Yorkshire Police's commitment and determination to solve the case and bring closure for Claudia's loved-ones, is undiminished by the passage of time.

Detective Superintendent Dai Malyn, head of the force's enhanced Major Crime Unit, is leading a comprehensive review of the original investigation.

This has been supported by national experts from other forces and agencies, including forensic specialists who recently completed a re-examination of Claudia's home on Heworth Road in York.

As a result of this work, Det Supt Malyn and his team have identified new lines of enquiry and fresh public appeals to pursue, as well as renewed appeals on previous key items of interest to the investigation.

Detective Chief Superintendent Simon Mason, Head of Crime for North Yorkshire Police, said: "The decision to focus and prioritise the efforts of the enhanced Major Crime Unit on this case and undertake a comprehensive review of the original investigation, is producing progressive results which we expect to continue over time."

As I have followed the case for nearly two years, I do not know the reason for the Suv ruled out. I have read that after Galloway appeal for the owner, the day the person came forward it was ruled out by the evening time. How did they know that no one left the vehicle in the time it was parked up outside Claudias! To me it looks like more than one person inside and due to the timing and the sudden stop of Claudia using her mobile, It just seems very odd imo. 8BD3DEC9-A755-4EC0-9370-5C74D45C8D06.jpeg 35DA914D-F470-4822-9983-F86C032B15B6.jpeg 531DD5A9-36E2-4471-896B-4657035036BE.jpeg EA5F64DD-7885-45D1-8E06-79B556CF9A89.jpeg 8BD3DEC9-A755-4EC0-9370-5C74D45C8D06.jpeg 35DA914D-F470-4822-9983-F86C032B15B6.jpeg 531DD5A9-36E2-4471-896B-4657035036BE.jpeg EA5F64DD-7885-45D1-8E06-79B556CF9A89.jpeg

This vehicle is still of key interest to me... remember Dai Malyn said we know people are lying to us.

So with this in mind I'm not so keen to discard its possible importance.

Yes I wonder If ruled out due to the vehicle being scrapped as no time for any tests If the same day! Police confirmed two regulars owned vehicles very similar Jim the landlord, but never named the other x

I have been trying to read through past posts but you will appreciate it is time consuming but fascinating.

Has anyone had the foresight to map the locations of CCTV cameras around CLs home?

I am sure she must have been able to be tracked to some degree from her returning home until the following day? Is the road covered in both directions? Cost cutter at one end and around Limes Court the other? Wasn’t it suggested one of the houses opposite CLs has a low quality camera in the window?
I wondered what routes could be taken to avoid being picked up by CCTV?

    Ok.

I wonder whether Claudia switched off her phone at night. If she did, then she was alive the following morning to switch it on again. If she didn't switch off her phone then something happened to her that evening (18th). It's important to know her normal behaviour.

I think there's a camera above the entrance to Limes Court, there's the camera that viewed the loiterer near Claudia's house and there's a camera that caught the car with the break lights in front of Claudia's house.

So would there be a strong chance that CL or her abductor/s would have been captured on camera from 15:05 until..... where do you draw the line.
I assume that the pavements may not have been covered but most likely vehicle movements up and down the street would?

Had CL have set off on foot to work I would have expected her to have been seen on the post office camera? Surely NYP would have checked her route to and from work when her car was out of action.

The fact there are so many cameras dotted around her home makes this even stranger. It’s not as if it is a rural area.

I am aware a lot of this has probably been covered already so I best continue to read past posts.

This makes a lot of sense; you would think that If Claudia had set off out of the front door and walked the normal route, then she would have been picked up on a camera somewhere

If she hasn't, could it mean:

    • Claudia did actually spend the night away from her home; and got to this place, out of the coverage of CCTV
    • Claudia unfortunately never left the immediate area
    • Did Claudia arrange a lift and for some reason took the back alley route and met someone in the NH car park; and left the area via a 'blending in method'

Maybe it would be worth then going into really small detail and finding out if Claudia used the alarm function on her phone to wake her up in the morning?

Also; does Claudia's model of phone still sound an alarm if it is switched off ?

given that CL was computer illiterate, didn’t have a smart phone or computer didn’t use her phone for email or anything other than calling or texting (even pic shows her with a physical digital camera rather than her phone) I’m guessing it’s likely she didn’t use her phone as an alarm.
