Reedley deaths: Murder probe after 'mother and daughter' found dead

"Two bodies that were discovered inside a fire-damaged house in Lancashire are believed to be that of a 14-year-old girl and her mother."

"Following a search, police discovered the bodies in the home and a murder investigation has been launched.
While the bodies have not been formally identified, they are believed to be Dr Saman Mir Sacharvi , 49, and Vian Mangrio, police said.
Both deaths are being treated as unexplained and Home Office post-mortem examinations will be carried out in due course, a force spokesperson added."

Murder investigation launched into deaths of Burnley mother and daughter
''A Home Office post-mortem has today revealed Dr Sacharvi died as a result of pressure to the neck. She had also suffered an assault.

Although the post-mortem investigation is ongoing for Miss Mangrio, so police cannot yet give a cause of death, they can confirm she was found badly burnt inside the address.

Detectives are now treating the deaths as murder and their next of kin have been informed.

They are being supported by specially trained officers.

Detectives are now urging anybody with any information at all about the deaths to get in touch.''

Mum 'strangled & assaulted' before body & 'burnt' corpse of daughter, 14, found
''One neighbour said she believed the alarm had been raised when Dr Saman’s mother in Pakistan had not heard from her.

The neighbour, who didn’t wish to be named, said: “I think the doctor used to telephone her mother every day.

“So when she didn’t hear from her a man, who was dressed in white robes, came round to the house to see why.

“He became worried and I think that’s how the alarm was raised.”

Another neighbour, retired GP Arnold Jenkin, 71, said police had come to his home and asked for footage from his security camera.

He said: “They told me they wanted to see what cars had passed along the road.

"It so sad what’s happened, especially as it’s a 14-year-old.”

Dr Sacharvi was a junior doctor with Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust's specialist perinatal community mental health team since February.

She most recently worked at the trust's Daisyfield site in Blackburn. [...]
