Humberside Police

Thanks Joolz! So that link says:

"A report was received around 6.45am on Thursday, 25 April, that a suspected human body part had been found on a path near to the old railway track at Louth Road in New Waltham."

I'll report my post and see if the date can be changed.

ETA Thanks to the mod who updated the date in the title!

I'm just trying to pin point on Google maps where the police are searching.

Underwater search teams have been called in to search also.

Wasn’t an arm found in a park in Hull recently too?

I found the path on Google maps, but it's a long path so not quite sure where along there it was found.

It does sound if it’s possibly more recent?

With the foot still being attached and they were able to say it was female and approx size 4 pretty quickly?

Grim discussion.

Foot size and gender could be found by shoe size if still wearing I'd imagine.

It was the knowledge that it was a young woman that made me think it must be quite a recent death.

Here is the path it runs on further than the bit I've highlighted but I kind of got the impression that the leg was found more at the residential end of the path rather than where all the fields are.

Police divers have been searching the nearby beck.

None of the media articles hint at any missing persons cases from what I can see so I'm assuming at the moment there is no clue who it belongs to.

I can't think of any recent missing persons cases in the area that this could link to.

Unless the remains have been there a long time but the article doesn't state that it's skeletal remains so I'm assuming quite recent.

Human leg found on public footpath 'belongs to woman and was dragged by animal'
"The parish council's chairman warned locals that a body or more body parts could be somewhere in the village, telling residents to be village and know where their children are at all times."

"A dog walker said he took his three dogs along the path at 7.30pm on Wednesday night and he didn't see the limb.

He said: "If it had been around the footpath when we were there, I'm sure my dogs would have found it. So I don't think it was there the previous evening."

The path is used by local schoolchildren."

Size 4 is pretty small. (Equivalent to a US size 6 apparently).

I'm confused how she can say for certain it's a size 4 to be honest.

Yeh it is think UK average for women is a 5 or 6.

Having said that my 13 year old daughter is in a size 7 already she looks like she has clown feet.

I remember a headline from a few years ago, something like "mans body parts found scattered around village, police say death is not suspicious" and I thought wtf, how can it not be suspicious, but it turned out the man had committed suicide and it was animals who had done the scattering.

This is strange though, especially as that dog walker seems sure the leg wasn't there the day before.

I'm not sure how closely foot size correlates with height, but I used to be a 4 at 5'1 (until I went up to a 4.5) so I would say if the estimate would be a 3 to a 5, probably a height of 4'10 to abut 5'5?

Could the shoe have still been on? Hence gender and shoe size known.
