Guagemap is interesting. There is a levels gauge very close to the site.
What piqued my interest is that the levels bob up and down a bit.
Agree dog owner routines are predictable, including locations likely to be, and I say this because I own a dog. In terms of the "window of opportunity", apparently she was spotted at 9.10 and phone found on the bench at 9.35. A lot can happen in 25 minutes. Just think of how people over the years have been abducted off the streets in a flash. They say she was logged on a Teams call, video off and on mute. If she had headphones on, she probably wouldn't have been aware of someone behind her. I can't imagine she'd have fallen into the river and not cried out for help. Also, can't believe she she'd travelled so far and fast, such that she was out of sight when her phone was found. These are just my thoughts...."Mr Ansell explained that he and his wife had done the same walk for years. “And you see the same faces every single day, and on the very odd occasion when you see somebody that you know, you, you don’t know, they, they stand out like a sore thumb.” Link
It is interesting how NB’s morning routine is very predictable and if you lived nearby or your kids went to the same school, you would know where she can be found walking most mornings. She also posts photos of her walk on SM. But with such a narrow window of opportunity and with her dog with her, it's very hard to imagine how the event could unfold and that someone could get away with something like this without being noticed. My guess would have to be someone both she and her dog is familiar with. It also suggests someone who is very familiar with the area and who doesn't work typical hours as it occurred after 9am.
Personally I still lean towards something accidental and relating to water though, I wish we knew more about the river flow that morning. I live near a river and they can change dramatically.
So you wouldn't rule our drowning but .....I am not ruling out accidental drowning, absolutely not. I just find it incredulous that a normally sedate section of river, at the height of less than metre suddenly and for only about 2 hours turned into a white water rapid log flume to dispose of all the evidence.
This Faulding guy is really starting to wind me up. He was hired as a search and rescuer, so why is he passing himself off as an all-purpose detective? Telling the Sun that she could have "run off with a lover" when he has no evidence whatsoever is bang out of order! Obviously the police must have an open mind about such things (they'd be failing in their job if they didn't) but there's no need for him to be saying that in the press...."she didn’t walk by the river but in the fields".
Faulding added he had spoken to Nicola’s friends who told him that as far as they knew she rarely walked by the river bank.
He claimed one of them had shown him her Strava app which recorded her walking activity and it showed she didn’t walk by the river but in the fields.

NB always took a left from the gate and went around the fields. The only part of the river walk logged on her walking app is the part next to the upper field. NB doesn't appear to walk the steep path that is straight ahead when exiting the gate...."she didn’t walk by the river but in the fields".

Some might walk away in the opposite direction on hearing barking (if they didn’t see a dog in distress but only heard it I mean).Would anyone react to the sound of a dog barking coming from an area used by dog walkers?
On her Strava page you can see that she does a number of different walks, not just the one she did that morning. However, they all seem to go fairly close to the river at some point...."she didn’t walk by the river but in the fields".

Just seen it now! This Faulding guy is really starting to wind me up. He was hired as a search and rescuer, so why is he passing himself off as an all-purpose detective? This makes sense. I read elsewhere that NB had stopped taking a ball on their walks. Also, in the winter, she might have avoided the river bank so Willow didn't get in and wet on a busy work day walk. A walk around the edge of a field would give Willow a sniffy walk which is less OTT. Plus if NB was on a walk call, as a dog owner, I've done this myself where in a more enclosed controllable environment I'm able to take phone calls or in NB's case the Team call. I have a dog that I don't walk on the beach if I was in a rush because she would always run off and find a fish and it was ages...."she didn’t walk by the river but in the fields".

It does seem to be below the Weir yes.If the location of the levels gauge shown here is accurate, then the gauge is on the other side of the weir from where it is assumed NB fell in:

I don't know whether the water would be deeper, shallower or the same depth upstream of the weir.
There doesn't seem to have been anything from her mum, dad or sister since their first television appearance when her dad said that she was upbeat after completing the mortgage. It's her friends who have been interviewed. There has been nothing more from her own familyI watched the documentary/interview on TV last night. I was surprised that no members of her own family were part of it.
Run off with a lover? What, and have her parents, sister, husband and kids all think she's dead? Unbelievable.
Yes, but this wasn't an abduction of the streets where a victim can be quickly bundled into a vehicle and driven awayAgree dog owner routines are predictable, including locations likely to be, and I say this because I own a dog. He talks pure garbage constantly. Wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t actually know how to operate sonar.Run off with a lover? What, and have her parents, sister, husband and kids all think she's dead? Unbelievable.
Yes, there's other ways of running off with lovers, this is not the way! Unbelievable and totally lacking sensitivity!Run off with a lover? What, and have her parents, sister, husband and kids all think she's dead? Unbelievable.
