Going by this 'official' timeline of events from LE:
  • 8:43 a.m. - Nicola was seen on the river path, walking towards the iron bridge.
  • 8:47 a.m. - She was seen in the lower field with her dog, Willow, and her mobile phone, which was on view.
  • 8:53 a.m. - She sent an e-mail to her boss on her phone.
  • 9:01 a.m. - She joined a team's work call. All of this was normal behaviour for Nicola. This was not out of the ordinary and nothing different or unusual happened during those calls and e-mails.
  • 9:10 a.m. - She was seen in the upper field. The dog was off the lead, again, this was normal. The dog was not in it's harness and the lead wasn't on the dog, which was all part of Nicola's daily routine.
  • 9:20 a.m. - Through enquiries we've made, we believe that her phone was on the bench.
  • 9:30 a.m. - The team's meeting ended, but Nicola's phone remained dialled in.
  • 9:33 a.m. - A witness found Nicola's dog, Willow, running between the gate to the field and the bench where the phone was located. Also found by that witness was the dog harness which was on the grass between the bench and the rivers edge.
Am I correct in thinking that the next timeline event is PA and Police being informed at 10:50am?

LE seem focussed on this '10 minute window' (9:10-9:20am) but is there not a 70 minute window of invisibility? (9:33-10:50am)
Anything done on her phone could have been done by someone else… in theory

Apologies if this has been mentioned, but I realised this morning that the Wyreside Farm Park caravan site is not open until March (you can see that on their website).

This is interesting in so far as a) we can effectively rule out the possibility that a visitor to the site was somehow involved (because there weren't any!), but b) if something *did* happen in the vicinity of the caravan park, there would have been no witnesses around to hear anything (other than the operators of the park). Edited to add IMO
Good point!

When looking at the last 200 years on the BNA website it’s quite shocking just how many people including a number of children have drowned in the River Wyre. I can’t view the whole articles due to a paywall but it does give an indication of just how dangerous this river is. The sign by the bench was put there for a reason.

Can’t speak for her work, but it’s not uncommon at mine if it’s a large meeting and not everyone is expected to talk then only the person speaking has their camera on. Even in smaller meetings some people do it. It’s not uncommon. One other obvious possibility is she didn’t want them to know she was out of the house having a nice walk during a meeting.
Exactly … many do other things whilst on a meeting call… that they would prefer weren’t seen by other participants!

If we put the river theory to one side it explains the dog running around between the bench and the gate. Why NB went through the gate - if she did - is the question.
just checked the new media links-only thread

police interview 30th Jan

'Police - No, the dog was loose and the dog was between the river and the bench.'

Do we know where that CCTV is located?
'One frustrated friend took to social media to allege that a CCTV camera pointing towards the spot where Nicola may have last been seen was faulty, crippling the investigation. In a post she claimed was published with the family's backing the woman, named Tilly Ann, said it may have revealed all had it been operational.

She wrote: "There's CCTV at the back of the caravan park. The only camera that isn't working is the one that would have seen everything."

I don't, but I wish I did. The description of it as being "at the back of the caravan park" is vague. And whilst footage from it may have been useful, I think it is a bit of a stretch to think that this one camera "is the one that would have seen everything", as has been suggested elsewhere.

I'm sure it's been mentioned on here on an earlier thread, but does anyone else think it's odd that NB's walking route was previously mapped out by someone on Google Maps (this person also mapped the section of river alongside Rowanwater):

I don't find it odd personally. I do similar on local parks I use for dog walks. I mainly do it with my drone, but have done some walking routes too. It's nice to have them so people can look back in future years at how the place used to look.

Thank you for posting that. God, it's so sobering. The sound of the water rushing by is just an awful reality-check feeling. I hope those guys are OK, that they stay safe, and that somehow there are answers in this very upsetting case.

From looking at the FB live stream is it just the one boat? Can that scan the entire width of the river as they pass, just not sure on the range of the scanner as it passes along what looks to be quite a wide river. Quite amazing they can find anything.
