I don't really get the significance of this; if you search someone on FB and don't get the name exactly right it'll give you suggestions. As soon as you click on a suggestion to view the profile it records that profile in your search history, correct name and all.

You don't need to type the name correctly in order for it to be on your search history.

It was actually for me personally one of the biggest points of the day and the most memorable. The reason I say that is because he had crafted this situation which gave the impression she couldn't spell the name now but she was able to search for her first name correctly on facebook
(It was a very complex first name)

Mr Johnson then went on to reveal (from memory) That SEVEN handover sheets found in her property were related to this baby.

The way that exchange happened it created a real visual in my mind of Letby using her handover sheets to look up this parent.

It sounds silly but the way Mr Johnson crafted that exchange was almost like art !

Hi all! I also attended yesterday. CS2C we probably saw each other! It was very interesting. I'll let CS2C write their opinions first but I did stay for the afternoon as I live a lot closer, so I'll mention a few of my thoughts on that. It felt to me IMO that Myers just wanted to do a very quick rebuttal and get her off the stand. He also seemed to lead her with her answers. For example, he asked her why she would remember some babies and not others and she said it depended how much care you gave them, if you were their allocated nurse etc. He then asked if they all spent the same amount of time on the ward. She said no, some are there for a matter of hours, others 6 months. So he was suggesting answers IMO and leading her the whole way through. I felt she was very robotic, emotionless, expressionless, speaking from a place of logic rather than from the heart, trying to think of a way to answer the questions, rather than speaking from a position of truth. However, in fairness that could be due to having been imprisoned for 3 years and the whole situation so probably isn't a reflection on guilt/innocence.

I felt he really belaboured showing the pictures of her socialising. NJ had said she was out on the razz, drinking fizz and at the races (such old-fashioned, posh expressions hehe, IMO, like being sweet on someone and a leisure suit ) so Myers showed pictures of her with her family, on days out etc I think to paint the picture she wasn't out getting drunk the whole time. Personally, I feel it missed the point the prosecution was trying to make regarding her mental state and feeling isolated.

Not sure how much I can say about the rest of the defence's case as I can't remember what was said with the jury out of the room but there was uncertainty as to whether Wednesday would have other witnesses or would be the judge summing up and then closing statements. The court is open to the public on Tuesday but no jury, from what I can remember.

Anyway I'm interested to hear CS2C's views. I totally agree with the snapping response they mentioned, though I'd forgotten which question it was a response to, so well remembered!

Also, when NJ was asking LL about how she felt when she was told not to come in on the nightshift, she said upset. He was trying to get her to say she was having a meltdown, the implication being only someone guilty of something serious would have such a reaction. She kept trying to minimise it, saying she was just upset and worried. Then he showed her the message she sent to the doctor saying meltdown ++. She then said ok it was a dramatic meltdown. A moment later he asked her why it was dramatic and she said who mentioned dramatic? Nobody said anything about dramatic. NJ said - you did, about 20 seconds ago!!!

Minor point, but there was no handover sheet for K.

On the name spelling, I was a bit confused by this. Are they saying it was spelled wrong on the handover sheet, and that’s the spelling she used for the search?

Maybe they were trying to make the point that she would have needed to check the spelling of the name so he was drawing an association between the handover sheets and the FB searches ?

6 months?! Ha.

There was a time when a few babies would be on neonatal units for a very long time, but that was decades ago. I looked after one for a year! This was always due to lung damage post-ventilation, which was not so sophisticated back then and also CPAP wasn't in use. But by this time a stay of anywhere near 6 months was unheard of, certainly where I worked.

I really hope the Jury picked up on the grouping of Facebook searches..I thought it was damning enough to begin with ...not the searches themselves but the grouping of them ...but essentially now knowing that she was grouping victims with potential victims (allegedly)
