Honestly, I don't find the vehicles that suspicious. You pay for all-day parking if you're going to be gone all day, which says commuter to me, particularly given there's a mainline station 75 yards away. Trains are still coming in at that time of night. Not everyone works 9-5 and then comes straight home.

The van's unlikely to have been there all day because parking is restricted on that stretch until after 5pm, but it could be someone delivering to/picking up from a local business, visiting a local house, drinking in the pub on the corner (last orders at 11, drinking up til 11.30), picking up takeaway at the KFC round the corner on the main road (closes at midnight), popping into a convenience store somewhere near the station, etc etc. Lots going on all through the evening and somewhat into the night on the main road.

And I don't really see the closeness of the pedestrians to the van as suspicious either. That's how people cross roads in urban areas. If you followed the green cross code to the letter you'd never get across some roads. I can see why the police want to know if the driver noticed anything though.

The only thing I find slightly odd about the van is that, despite it being a no through road, it's facing up, towards the main road, as though the driver turned into the road and did a 180 before parking. I would think it more common to pull into a parking space on arrival (especially on that side of the road) and then turn around as you were leaving. But we haven't got a complete film here, and perhaps he did just that, then stood on his brakes to see what the pedestrians would do, which would explain the brake lights. (Or she, ofc.)

I think the van turns left at the top, which is a shame because the only traffic camera in the area is to the right, at the junction of London Road and Tamworth Road. I looked at the traffic cam images between about 11pm and 1am when the Derby Road cctv was released but the quality is too poor to identify pedestrians unfortunately.

I think the safest thing to do would be to park on the left and swing round at the bottom of the street when leaving but I don’t think it would be suspicious activity if a driver turned round on arrival. This of course is assuming they came in from the top end in the first place which we can’t be certain of.

We do not know whether they were spotted on more CCTV although you would imagine if they were there would have been more appeals from the police.
I agree that the van driver may not be much help, it would be a split second sighting and probably not very clear in the dark.

Could the hope be that the driver had dashcam and could have captured the person that OD seemed to be with?

I guess they feel she is not alive but probably keeping people on the lookout by not suggesting this.It would surely be unlikely for somebody to be alive in a situation like this as they would either be spotted or without the means to live.

"possible" being the operative word. These are notoriously unreliable, and personally I bank nothing on them unless they know the person or they have taken a photo.

Hey guys!

New to this community, but like all of you, I'm concerned about Owami's whereabouts, especially as I live in/around Croydon, so it feels like quite a personal case to me.

I've had a search for where the aforementioned sightings have been of Owami to track her movements, and placed them on a map for easy viewing (see below). The only information I can't seem to find is where the original video of her in line for the store is taken? I've heard a mixed reaction of 4th July and 7th July. Can anyone confirm?



There's no mention of how Owami travelled to Croydon, but being local I know that West Croydon Station (closest to where she was last seen) isn't too accessible. It does reach central London, but is super slow so not usually the prefered station. There is NO underground station here, it's just an overground line. There are lots of tram and bus services however.

Last point, her direction of travel on 7th July does lead towards the hospital. Not sure if she was familiar of this, but given her background, I would assume she may do. Is it possible she was looking for help?

I really hope she is found alive, she looked to be in pain in the most recent video, but she must've stayed somewhere for the night to make an outfit change (new jacket & top), so hopefully she's not been held anywhere. I hope the police can find her asap!

Someone matching the description of missing nurse Owami Davies has been seen in her local area since she was last caught on CCTV, police have said.

The student nurse, 24, was last seen on CCTV walking in Croydon, south London, on 7 July.

She had left her family home in Essex three days before. Five people have been arrested over her disappearance, but are all on bail.

In a new appeal, Met Police Detective Chief Inspector Nigel Penney stressed that "it is possible she is in the local area".

He said that someone matching her description had been seen in Croydon in the days after she went missing.

"The search to find Owami Davies continues and we are conducting searches, appeals and extensive CCTV enquiries in order to trace and find her," he said.

"I would remind people that even though detectives from Specialist Crime are investigating, this remains a missing person inquiry.

The photo of Owami outside the house on Clarendon Road--could that be a dash cam or a door cam? It is a residential street, no shops seem to be on it, could it be dashcam of someone parking? THere are cars parked all up the street. It's a curious place to be hanging around outside as what is there to do there?

I had the same thought - looking at the house behind her (on Google maps) there isn't anything outside other than a parking meter.

It looks like she is looking down at a phone or something, so my first thought was dashcam or even a body cam? It could be a camera on the door opposite, but I can't imagine there would be that much detail especially when it was 1.30am?

The doorbell cams have a ton of detail on them (the few images I have seen from them. I don't have one personally, so others with more knowledge might like to comment).

The later sighting of her was at 7am on this same little street? What was she doing all that time? She looks distressed in the photo as others have mentioned. Was she trying to find someone's house and was lost?

What is that area like? Are those houses split into flats or shared houses?

Yep you're correct about both house no. and sighting. The angle of the photo however is what makes me think it isn't a door camera. It is almost looking up from a height shorter than her?

About 10ish minutes from this street is a local park where there is quite a few homeless people late at night, and there is also quite a few squatters within Croydon in general, so if she hadn't stayed with someone (such as the police's suggestion on Derby Road) then maybe she found refuge amongst similar people on/around this road and area?

West Croydon in general is really rough, not the kind of place you should be in after dark alone (if you google 'London Road, Croydon' about 10 results will come up about stabbings there). From my limited experience on Clarendon Road, it's usually quite busy with cars. Most houses on this road are 3 beds, so I think it is a mixture of families and renters, however, I personally am not sure if it's heavier in one than the other sadly.

Edit: This isn't to say she had purposely wandered into trouble or a bad group, I'm just stating that WC isn't a friendly area and it's likely she stumbled into something without knowing.

I am getting the feeling either the police haven't got a single clue about this case, or there is a lot more they know about her and her activities that they aren't revealing.

From the night - the image of her, not saying where from, or if indeed from one of their own bodycams where they saw her and spoke to her.

Why they had reason to arrest five people and how they suspected she had been un contact with them.

And why they keep saying she is/was vulnerable. It might help to say she was such because... she had mental health issues, she had a physical disability, she was intoxicated, she had taken substances etc etc.

Saying they believe she was sighted further with no backup info is pointless. Either they place credence on these or they don't. If the former they need to reveal time and place.
