''A 21-year-old who died after being stabbed at Notting Hill Carnival has been named as rapper Takayo Nembhard.
Mr Nembhard, known as TKorStretch, from Bristol, was attacked in Ladbroke Grove at about 20:00 BST on Monday.
Police had to pull him out of a huge crowd and provide emergency first aid. He later died in a west London hospital.
The fatal attack was one of seven reported stabbings at the event on Monday evening.
The other six resulted in non-fatal injuries.''

''Oshian Edwards, who said that she was his partner and expecting his baby, paid tribute on Instagram, writing: "Takayo my sweet beautiful boy, all I can ask is why over and over again.

You was the most kind hearted, loving, funny and caring person."
Alongside photos of the couple on Instagram, she posted that their son kicked as she said her last goodbyes to him.''

"His family is devastated".

''TKorStretch had nearly 11,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, with one of his songs having more than 300,000 streams. His YouTube videos have been viewed more than a million times.''

''Police are hunting the killers of a rapper and expectant father who was stabbed to death at the Notting Hill Carnival.

Takayo Nembhard, 21, was knifed under the Westway flyover close to Ladbroke Grove station at around 8pm on Monday with hundreds of people nearby.

Police and paramedics gave him emergency treatment at the scene before he was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead despite further efforts to save him.

The musican, who used the moniker TKorStretch, had travelled from Bristol to enjoy the annual event that saw millions attend over the Bank Holiday.''

“It all happened out of nowhere, one minute everyone was happy and chatting then it was carnage. There was blood everywhere and a guy on the floor,” he said.

A woman who owns a house near the scene said: “There was screaming and then hordes of people running up the road. The whole crowd was panicking. It was horrible, just pure panic on their faces.”

Another resident said: “I looked out my window and a bloke was on ground. People were running in all directions. It was total panic. People were running away from the scene while police were running towards the man. They started working on him to try to save him.”

Hard to identify any likely motive from the information available publicly, but given his talent and musical persona is a jealous/crazy fan a possibility? Did he have any stalkers?

What an appalling thing to happen to a young man about to become a father who had only gone out for a day of fun. So utterly tragic, can't even begin to imagine what his poor girlfriend will go through, giving birth to the baby alone , knowing that he should be there by her side.

Heartbreaking.

I’ve been to the NH carnival (although many years ago!). It is absolutely mobbed with people so I doubt he would have been found by a fan or stalker. My guess would be this resulted from some kind of scuffle, or a prior altercation which got out of hand. Utterly tragic, poor lad.

police have set up a web page requesting video footage. You are right about the sheer numbers of people making it hard to locate someone @HongKongPhooey, i hadn't thought of that. Hopefully someone nearby captured something.

From that police report it seems like it occurred under an underpass though: 'At around 20:00hrs on Monday, 29 August, officers became aware of a stabbing in Ladbroke Grove, under the Westway flyover'. Junction of Westway W10 and Ladbroke Grove. Image attached. It was 8pm when the incident occurred but still pretty light at this time of year, except under an underpass. Something about that location seems maybe premeditated???

''Notting Hill Carnival should be moved to a Royal park and entry should be PAID FOR: Ex-Met Police chief says event should have security checks and says people are too scared to criticise it for 'fear of being labelled racist'

  • Roy Ramm, ex-Met commander, says moving event would make policing easier
  • But he admits that police figures are reluctant to criticise event despite violence
  • Comes after Met Police Fed chair Ken Marsh called for event to be cancelled
  • Police Federation chair 'disgusted' following assault involving 'numerous males'
  • Comes after Takayo Nembhard, 21, was stabbed to death at the event on Monday
  • Police also probing allegations that two female officers were sexually assaulted ''
''It comes after the carnival was overshadowed by violence following the fatal stabbing of footballer-turned drill rapper Takayo Nembhard, 21, on Monday.

The Met has also confirmed it is investigating allegations that two female officers were sexually assaulted, with one cop grabbed around the neck and kissed and a second 'surrounded by a group of men'.

Officers made 209 arrests during the two-day event, while the force also recorded a further six non-fatal stabbings. Some 74 officers were also assaulted.

But Mr Ramm admitted that, even if the carnival was moved, 'there are people who still want to be violent, to sell drugs and to mark their turf'.

He told MailOnline: 'From a policing perspective, that [moving the carnival] is a much better situation. But it will be rejected by the community because of the view that carnivals should be held in the street.''

Have been looking at YouTube, where a suspect is being singled out. Very sad if it's the case. Not a reliable media source obviously so not posting links but search his rap name and it comes up on Twitter too.

Ugh this is super sad. I live in bristol too and although I’m not part of the same music scene, I do go out and enjoy music too so this one feels a bit closer. He clearly was working super hard to be able to achieve what he did with his music during a pandemic. There’s a really cute post on his Instagram about his first live gig at love saves the day (a pretty big festival here) and how his mum went to see him. I really hope they catch whoever did this

"Detectives investigating the murder of a man at Notting Hill Carnival will return to the scene to appeal for witnesses and information one week on from the incident.

At around 20:00hrs on Monday, 29 August, officers became aware of a stabbing in Ladbroke Grove, under the Westway flyover.

Officers provided emergency first aid to the victim – 21-year-old Takayo Nembhard – until the arrival of paramedics.

He was taken to a west London hospital where, despite the best efforts of medical staff, he was sadly pronounced dead.

His next of kin were informed. They continue to be supported by specialist officers.

A murder investigation was launched led by Detective Chief Inspector James Shirley of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command.

There have been no arrests.

A post-mortem examination held at Westminster Mortuary on 1 September gave cause of death as a stab wound to the right groin femoral artery.

Tonight, officers will be in the area where Takayo was attacked from 19:00hrs to 21:00hrs to speak to the public and distribute leaflets as part of the investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Jim Shirley, said: “I know that there were several hundred people in the immediate area surrounding the murder and while the carnival environment made the management of and access to the scene difficult, it also meant that there were likely to have been a number of witnesses.

“If you saw anything, no matter how insignificant it may seem, please do get in touch.”

Detectives would like to hear from anyone with information, including anyone who was filming or photographing in the area at the time and may have captured relevant footage or images on their phone or camera."

Seems those youtube comments were inaccurate, no one has ever been arrested for this. Just internet rumours.

''A dedicated page has been set up where photos and videos can be uploaded.

Information can also be provided by calling the incident room directly on 020 7175 2206 to speak to an officer, by calling 101 or by tweeting @MetCC quoting 7478/29AUG.

Anyone wishing to remain 100 per cent anonymous can contact Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.''

Also just saw this on local news

The family of Bristol rapper TKorStretch have announced they will be posthumously releasing an EP of his music, almost six months after he was stabbed at Notting Hill Carnival.

In an emotional video announcement, Takayo ‘TK’ Nembhard’s father Vincent was joined by his mum Sandra and TK’s girlfriend Oshian, who was cradling their baby Kali, born three months after TK’s death. Vincent said TK has ‘left a lot of music behind’, and that they now feel it is ‘only right’ if some of it is released as a tribute to the 21-year-old.

''O'shian had known TK since she was 16 and says it's been hard bringing up Khali without him.
"I would say that the worst part has probably been Takayo not being able to see his son thrive and see all the different type of milestones that he's achieving.
"But it's bittersweet because I love having my son here."

A £20,000 reward is being offered to help convict the killer of an aspiring rapper who was stabbed to death at last year's Notting Hill Carnival.

Father-to-be Takayo Nembhard, 21, from Bristol, was attacked in Ladbroke Grove, west London, during the event at about 20:00 BST on 29 August.
Several people have since been arrested in connection to his death but no-one has been charged.
Met officers will go to the event this weekend to make fresh witness appeals.

“Takayo was a talented rapper and singer from Bristol who had visited the carnival with his friends and sister. He had done nothing to provoke the attack that day.''

“We still really need the help of anyone who has information to bring those responsible to justice. I hope the offer of this substantial reward from the charity Crimestoppers with the appeal to contact them anonymously will encourage people to do the right thing.”

“There were many witnesses to the killing who could have vital information, but for whatever reason, have not yet come forward. Our charity, which is independent of the police, gives you the opportunity to pass on information about crime whilst staying completely anonymous.''

"Information can also be provided by calling the incident room directly on 020 7175 2206 to speak to an officer, by calling 101 and asking for the Met Police, or by tweeting @MetCC quoting 7478/29AUG.

"Anyone wishing to remain 100 per cent anonymous can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling freephone 0800 555 111 or by visiting www.crimestoppers-uk.org. They never ask for your personal information and they do not track your device.

"To qualify for the reward, you must contact Crimestoppers directly. The reward is valid between 23 August and 23 November for information they exclusively receive and pass on that leads to conviction."
