Dorset Police said a 38-year-old, who is also from Poole, is still being treated by medics after she was seriously injured in the stabbing.

Officers have been seen scanning Bournemouth beach with metal detectors this afternoon in an apparent hunt for the murder weapon while a 17-year-old boy from Lancashire remains in custody on suspicion of murder.

The images of a suspect show him wearing dark clothing with his hood pulled over his head.

Releasing CCTV of a suspect who has already been arrested is a rare step for a police force to take.

'We are now in a position to issue CCTV images of the suspect. I would urge anyone who was in the area of Durley Chine beach during the night from Friday 24 May to Saturday 25 May 2024 and may have seen the person pictured or anything unusual to please come forward.

'Similarly, anyone who was in the area of Durley Roundabout, West Cliff Gardens, Durley Gardens or West Cliff Drive during that night might have vital clues that could help us.

'Did you see anyone acting strangely, mainly between 10pm and midnight? Do you have dashcam or CCTV footage that may assist the enquiry?

'Anyone who thinks they recognise the person in the CCTV images should contact police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk/do-it-online, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting incident number 24:707.

Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.

I think drugs, as in a drug deal gone wrong, are unlikely on her part as she was a personal trainer. Him being high on something could be a possibility

I meant the alleged perp.
Not the victims.

Maybe he was a dealer.
Or maybe he was robbing ppl on the beach.

What was a 17-year-old doing on the beach at midnight?

In a town far from home?

17 year olds being on the beach at midnight is absolutely normal in Bournemouth/Poole. We spent pretty much every Friday and Saturday night on the beach until the early hours from 16-18.

It also isn't uncommon to walk home from Bournemouth along the beach to get home in Poole. It depends on which side of Poole you live on but for much of it walking along the beach is the quickest way back

I think I should have been more clear.... I was actually asking the op, why it was strange or rare to rebroadcast these cctv images after capture.
But no matter... obviously the cctv tapes are critical to the LE investigation.

17 yr old has been released and eliminated from enquires
#LatestNews - Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the death of a woman in Bournemouth and renewing their appeal to identify the suspect from CCTV images.

Dorset Police received a report at 11.42pm on Friday 24 May 2024 that two people had been stabbed on Durley Chine Beach. Very sadly, a 34-year-old woman from Poole died at the scene. Another woman – 38 years old and also from Poole – sustained serious injuries and is still receiving treatment in hospital.

A 17-year-old boy from Lancashire was arrested on suspicion of murder. Following fast-time enquiries over the weekend, he has now been released without charge and eliminated from enquiries in relation to the incident.

Detective Superintendent Richard Dixey, of the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “The investigation into this tragic incident is progressing and detectives are dedicated to finding out what happened and ensuring our communities remain safe and secure.

“We need the public’s help to identify the suspect in the CCTV images. If you recognise him or have any information, no matter how small, that may lead us to his identity please get in touch immediately.

“We would ask the public not to approach a suspect under any circumstances, but to call 999 immediately.

“Our thoughts remain with the loved ones of the woman who tragically lost her life and the surviving victim as we drive forward our investigation.

“If you were on Durley Chine beach during the night from Friday 24 May to Saturday 25 May 2024 and saw the man pictured or any suspicious activity, we need to hear from you.

“We also are renewing our appeal to anyone who was in the area of Durley Roundabout, West Cliff Gardens, Durley Gardens or West Cliff Drive during that night. Did you see anyone acting strangely, mainly between 10pm and midnight? Do you have dashcam or CCTV footage that may assist the enquiry?

“Officers and staff from across the Force are out in the town conducting extensive enquiries, including detailed house-to-house visits, so the public will see a very overt and planned police presence in and around the Bournemouth area.

“We do not take lightly the impact this tragic incident will have on our communities and many members of the public will be concerned. There remains an enhanced and visible policing presence in the area with officers who can be approached if the public feel in any way concerned.”

Anyone with information is asked to submit it to the investigation team via the Major Incident Public Portal page between 7am and 10pm daily at Public Portal. If you are unable to submit information online or would like to report something to us outside of these hours, please call 101 quoting occurrence number 55240078013.

Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.

Well, this is quite a twist. Clears up why they were still wanting to post and repost the cctv .
