FORT PIERCE More than four months ago, 69-year-old Joseph Coleman died alone in his Fort Pierce efficiency apartment. As the rest of the world gathers to celebrate a new year, Coleman remains alone, unnoticed and unclaimed. http://www.tcpalm.com/news/2010/dec/28/unclaimed-body-of-69-year-old-remains-at-st/
It seems possible he doesn't have any relatives-- surely they have a plan B! He deserves a little dignity... bury him fgs. mo
So sad! Even without reading the article yet. Seems every county should have a budget for handling low-cost but decent burials for the unclaimed. Rest in peace, Joseph. Our spirits live on, and our bodies are only temporary "vehicles".
So sad to think that you can just slip from this world -- one day you're here, living, breathing, the next day you're gone, and there's no one to grieve your passing.
Has he been referred to the Unclaimed Persons research group on FB? they do volunteer working finding relatives of unclaimed persons, but LE must refer.
