Born Linda Sue Hanoian, she married Carl Gustke in 1967 in Los Angeles and in 1976 she married William P Peterson, also in LA and presumably having divorced her first husband.

Anyone know if the second husband might be related to an A. Peterson jr or the second? Or maybe used a different variation on the spelling of the last name?

Details of Disappearance

Peterson was last seen in Murray, Utah on September 16, 1978. Her husband stated she stopped by his workplace to tell him she was going to Kentucky, in order to visit friends. She then rode away in a station wagon with other friends.

Peterson apparently never arrived in Kentucky. She never got in touch with her husband or her mother, who lives in California, and has never been heard from again. Her husband reported her missing two weeks later, on September 30. Few details are available in Peterson's case.

Kentucky is a long way from Utah and a long car ride if you're pregnant, although she wasn't in the third trimester so maybe it wasn't that bad. I wonder if she and her husband were having any problems and I also wonder what the friends said about the trip. Surely the police questioned them. I wonder if she made it to Kentucky or what, because it isn't clear.

Yeah, the Find A Grave photo is not this Linda. I don’t want to post a full yearbook group image, but I think Linda’s height could be listed incorrectly. She appears to be shorter than most of the other females standing next to her, not what I’d think 5’8” looks like (JMO).

Doing a Google Search reveals very little. Only one page. I find one part of the Charley Project to be interesting: "Her husband stated she stopped by his workplace to tell him she was going to Kentucky, in order to visit friends. She then rode away in a station wagon with other friends."

Did the husband's co-workers corroborate this? Who were these 'friends' and did LE identify them? I can't find anything further.

Hanoian is an interesting maiden name, haven't seen that around before.
