Millerbergs called people of interest in murder investigation

Weber County Attorney Dee Smith said Tuesday morning that Eric and Dea Millerberg are "people of interest" in the death of 16-year-old Alexis Rasmussen.
Smith said evidence collected shows Alexis died in a house on or near Sept. 11 and "did not die of natural causes."

ETA: Monday Smith called the case a "homicide" and said the public should not be worried about a killer still on the loose.

Ogden • Weber County Attorney Dee Smith on Tuesday identified Eric and Dea Millerberg — who are allegedly two of the last people to see 16-year-old Alexis Rasmussen alive — as persons of interest in the teen’s death.
Smith also said the girl died elsewhere and that her body was then transported to where it was buried near Interstate 84 in Morgan County.

Talk about slow moving justice. I just hope that they put all of their ducks in a row and nail these two to the wall! My guess? When one of them rolled and told LE where her body is, they likely said that she OD'd and they panicked and hid her body. I think that is where LE is saying that they are waiting on autopsy for charges. :twocents:

The article is too short to snip. Basically Eric went off on a man in 1999. Beat the man and an infant with a gun. Pointed the gun at the man and pulled the trigger. Luckily the gun misfired.

(snip)
According to the search warrants, filed in Ogden’s 2nd District Court, two people associated with Eric Millerberg said they were asked to help him get rid of something on Sept. 10 and told "to bring a car and don’t ask any questions," the Standard-Examiner reported.
One of the persons was quoted telling the police, "I can’t believe he killed a little girl."

Some of the witness statements include:

"It's something she (Dea) can't fix. Only her, her husband and one other person know about it."

The witness is also quoted as saying, "[Dea] won't tell about it to the police and that she's sorry it happened and she's too solid to tell what it is."

The same witness said, "[Dea] can't change it; she's protecting herself & husband and one other male friend."

She also told investigators, "Dea knows everything that happened. The girl is buried somewhere in the state she's not gone, but not alive."

The same witness told police that a sixteen-year-old girl had requested that Eric "shoot her up" with drugs and that she wanted to have a "threesome" involving Eric and Dea, to which Dea arranged.

I will say this, these two scumbags had weeks to get their stories together about what happened. It is my bet that Lexi did not "want" a threesome, but it was likely forced on her and went out of control. It is also telling that she wanted "him" to shoot her up. Again, sounds like they may have "shot" her up with or without her permission.

I am not saying she is perfect, but these two scumbags will say anything they can to save their own hindends. Guess what, even if she did "ask" for a threesome, it is still statutory rape!! She is a child!! They were the adults!! SCUMBAGS!

They also had weeks to get rid of evidence:

The investigators later located the car and discovered that the carpet had been removed from the car's trunk.

The search warrant affidavit said that investigators found traces of human blood inside the Millerberg's home in a spot where the carpet and pad had been recently removed.

It is sad that a young girl's memory will be dragged through the mud so that these lowlifes can 'defend' themselves.

This was what I thought from the beginning - some drug-induced sex crime. Whether or not Alexis participated 'willingly' or not is irrelevant. It is still a crime and I think whatever happened went way way too far.

Very sad.
