MISSING: Idaho man failed to return home from backpacking trip in the Uintas Kyle S. Wimpenny left his Boise home on Sunday, Sept. 13 to backpack in the High Uintas and made plans to hike Kings Peak, according to the Summit County Sheriff's Office. Wimpenny reportedly told his roommate he would return on Wednesday, Sept. 16. In the early morning hours of Thursday, Sept. 17, the sheriff's office located Wimpenny's vehicle at the Henry's Fork trailhead. Search and rescue crews have been searching by foot, horseback and aircraft for Wimpenny since yesterday. He is described as a Caucasian man with long brown hair and a beard. He is five-feet, eight-inches tall and weighs 145 pounds with hazel eyes and a scar above his right eyebrow. Family members believe he was hiking with a blue backpack.
