Prison inmates testify at Martin MacNeill’s murder trial

Snipped:

According to court papers, one inmate says Martin MacNeill told him that he drugged up his wife, 50-year-old Michele MacNeill, on Oxycontin and sleeping pills, then convinced her to get into the bathtub and held her underwater "to help her out."
At least two inmates also say Martin MacNeill boasted that authorities could not prove that it was murder.

Snipped:

In reference to whether MacNeill murdered his wife, Inmate #4 testified: "I said, ‘Well did you do it?’ He said, ‘***** drowned.’ "

Howdy folks!! Been out of commission but still listening to the trial. Just want to add my 2 cents, most of the time I don't believe jail house informants but these guys "good ole boys of prison" appear to be telling the truth. What they have said MacNeill has said to others is in line with his manner of speech and sen text.

MacNeill appear perturbed that these guys are testifying. LOL

I think the State has done well so far, although I do wish that some things were more defined for the jury.

The jury has heard that Michele had a cocktail of meds in her system at the time of her death that would have knocked her out, that Martin does not have a clear alibi for more than an hour during an important time frame that includes Michele's time of death, that Martin had clear motive to want Michele dead (Gypsy moving in so very soon after the funeral of Michele), that Martin told at least a few people that Michele drowned, that Michele was not found in the tub the way Martin claimed, that Martin was the one that requested all of the meds that Michele was given after her surgery, that Martin was not honest about his "toe cancer", and who knows what else to come.

While it is a circumstantial case, it shows me that all roads lead to Martin killing Michele.

I think the state will pull all of this together clearly for the jury during summation.

I think he's guilty. If I were on this jury though, with what's been presented so far I would feel forced to vote him not guilty. What's been proven is that he is a cold , cheating SOB who didn't love his wife. Despicable, but not the same as proving he murdered her. Flame me as u will... :)

No one will flame you here. We are not that kind of trial watchers :)

I would be pressed to find him guilty right now. I do not believe the state has proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt. Unfortunate.

So much for a "10 minute recess", unless of course time goes slower in Utah than it does here in SC.

Add to that not doing CPR but claiming/pretending to do it and screaming after she passed that he told her not to have the surgery when he was clearly the one that pushed her to have it.

Thank you. Couldn't agree more about unfortunate. It is painful to witness extreme injustice in action. Makes one want to fervently believe in justice after death.....

Oh no. Please don't use this witness. Please. An inmate that had a child that had drugs on them is not going to be a good witness.
