UT - Parenting influencer, Ruby Franke, and blogger/podcast partner Jodi Hildebrandt, arrested for Child Abuse, Aug 2023

There have been many cases of women arrested and charged with crimes for not protecting their child from an abusive partner.
So when is the father in this case going to be arrested?
JMO.
This is a tricky one because all signs point to the father not being present when the extreme abuse happened and as far as we know there's no record of him knowing the children were being literally starved and physically abused, which is what got them arrested.

Now, I'm not saying that he didn't abuse and neglect them. I'm not saying he is innocent, I don't believe he is and there's plenty of evidence that he was complicit for a really long time. These kids have been abused and neglected in many ways for 20 years, dating back to the oldest daughter. But we have to recognize that this is far worse and more extreme than what was pictured in the videos and he can't be charged for starving them if he didn't starve them.

I believe this case will only get worse as details start to emerge and LE gathers more and more evidence.

I'm aware of that. But it was mostly the sisters that filed complaints and the cops didn't bother trying again when no one answered the door. This was happening in full view of the community and it appears that it was the neighbours, people who had no dog in the fight, who complained to the authorities.

There is no acceptable excuse for the lack of action from LE in this case.

Absolutely no excuse for their tepid response to numerous complaints regarding child abuse. They are the extreme opposite to the response of child welfare officers to children found in a home with a drug overdose death and transgendered women. I think economics play a great part in whether or not LE or child services view whether abuse is evident. Here, you've got a well dressed white woman whose public persona is that of a disciplinarian who is firm but fair because her kids are well dressed and always smiling in the numerous photos you see of them. All smoke and mirrors like many children who live in abusive homes.

Yes. And it makes me seethe. Now we have two kids, isolated from each other and from other kids. What foster parent are they going to find who has no other kids? Is that person going to be narrow minded and strictly religious and believe what’s being said and treat them accordingly? And what about school? Are they allowed to go to school?

These kids need support and lots of affirmation that they aren’t at fault and have done nothing wrong. But the decision of the judge will likely act to confirm, in their minds, what Jodi and Ruby have been telling them.
Trial should be held outside of the state of Utah <modsnip> JMO

None. Someone needed to use their human being thoughts and find a way, not turn the other way and 'oh well'. Nothing i/ we can do when they ARE LE , anybody. THERE ARE WAYS to save children when you are a free adult. DON'T STOP till they are in the shape this child was, what does it take here, we've all heard of the horror 'homes' and the finally desperate acts to save themselves and their sibs if any.

Totally correct on all said. I live in Boston area and that story was a horrible mess. I could not understand it.

She is a despicable person. Should have been caught a long time ago. Hope she's been put in her place now and the arrogance is gone. moo

YouTube Mom Ruby Franke Took Away Son’s Bed, Forced Him to Sleep on Beanbag for 7 Months

The YouTube mom accused of child abuse had previously been accused of mistreating her kids before she was arrested. Ruby Franke took away her eldest son’s bed for seven months, forcing him to sleep on a beanbag as punishment for playing a joke on his younger brother. Franke defended her decision in a 2020 video titled, “What we haven’t told you.” The Law&Crime Network’s Sierra Gillespie breaks down the disturbing disciplinary action.

Jodi's niece who did the <Modsnip - unapproved podcast> about their horrific abuse from Jodi did a media interview. (They weren't planning to until Ruby made the allegations about the kids in family court).

Well worth a listen. Jessi is amazing. They also mention speaking to a detective about this case so I'm hopeful LE is getting a clear picture about how deep this goes.

Thanks...for putting the emphasis on listening to Jessi's interview.
It is really just so painful to see how long and how severe her aunt and Ruby have been violating children.

I really hope this gains real traction as to how intense this brand of child abuse can be........

<modsnip - off topic commentary>

I strongly encourage anyone to listen to the posted msm interview upthread.... the details of Jodi's and Ruby's premeditated manipulative abuse is pretty amazing. I am going to go back to listen to her podcast on Mormon Stories as well.

As others have noted, watch this interview, y'all! The interviewer with KUTV 2 News Salt Lake City asks succinct questions and doesn't interrupt while Jessi Hildebrandt (Jodi's niece) is responding.

Jessi Hildebrant details the physical/psychological/spiritual torture she suffered at Jodi's direction as a teen, for about a year. Jessi's descriptions of her abuse are incredibly powerful, and demystified every question I had about Jodi and Ruby as well.

After watching this interview, you may also come to the same opinion (MOO!) that I did: Jodi H is, at minimum a vicious sociopath. In this interview, Jessi alludes to Jodi Hildebrant's having been diagnosed with various psychological disorders, but doesn't go into detail.

I felt the same after this interview. Her succinct and clear pronouncements clearly made Jodi a huge part of this case. Ruby seems to have been the follower, not the leader.

I sure hope others keep coming forward about Jodi.
Does she have kids? Where are they?

This case has really worked me up.... I have to close down WS for a while.... too worked up to be healthy!

Jodi has 2 kids per Jessi's first interview which is linked upthread. One of them went no contact years ago and is a friend of Jessi's. Not sure about the other one.

Jodi is everything she claims her clients are. She is manipulative, she is an addict (addicted to torturing the psyches of others) she is full of sin, lust (for money and power). She literally found a way to make others pay (and handsomely) for her to torture their minds and the little minds and bodies of their children. She is DANGEROUS. The church is just as culpable through their endorsement of her and her "practice" and funneling clients to her as she is for the many lives and relationships she has ruined over the years.

Ruby Franke is a narcissist (MOO) and Jodi reeled her in, convinced her Kevin was dangerous, drew her into her disgusting business of hurting people under the guise of helping because she needed Ruby's following to also be her own (MOO). IMO Jessie is correct in that Jodi has several diagnosed or as yet diagnosed mental health disorders. My bet is sociopath. People only exist to further her needs, and her needs are power and money.
