I am guilty of doing this because I find it fascinating that they never think, "If I get caught, I'll have to go to trial. And if I'm convicted, I will lose my freedom and everything I have. The whole community will hate me. It's not worth it." Those thoughts appear to never enter their small, evil minds. It's really hard for me to understand, first of all, why they would take a woman's life, and secondly, how they take the risk of getting caught. It's pure insanity. MOO

I am curious too of course how they knew each other and why they met up that night. And if they had met in real life (vs online before).

One thing though, I see some posts saying this could NOT have been a date or a SB/SD situation because of factors like her wearing sweats and being tired or him driving a Kia or living in a certain part of town.

I don’t think those arrangements are necessarily always the champagne and caviar setups one may think. Being a SD may be in some cases just be about having disposable income to spend on someone. Many probably are not stereotypical rich guys with a mansion and a Mercedes.

Anyway, this isn’t saying that’s how they met/knew each other. I have no clue. But in my mind it’s not ruled out by the circumstances we know so far.

Yes, i think we all are much more risk tolerant in our younger years. We have all done things in our early 20s that we now can't believe we did...

A big part of that is developmental. The prefrontal cortex, the rational part of our brain, is not fully developed until age 25. This means that sound decision making, good judgment, and an awareness of long term consequences are not at their best until the prefrontal cortex has matured. Until then a much more emotional part of the brain, the amygdala, processes information and yes, some decisions may not be the greatest.

I think remembering this helps us understand why we did what we did in our younger years and why young people are more prone to do things that they may decide against a few years later.

Heartbroken.... i think that K would have made an excellent nurse and would have made a real difference... Now that is all taken away... From her, her family and friends, and her future patients... Heartbroken and angry!

    MOO.

    AA certainly craves fame.
He will enjoy being on display in the Court rooms.
Knowing this, I hope his time in each case is limited, and he sits in his cage worried that he does not have sufficient exposure.
    MOO.

AA's from Texas right? I wonder if they'll link him to any unsolved crimes out there.

Not to mention, it would leave his address as the "end destination" on the Lyft app.

I have suspected that either there was someone ducking in the back seat or he had a gun and once the Lyft driver left, he bullied her into turning her phone off and he took possession of it.

Yeah. I’m with you on the gun theory.

I absolutely don’t think he had any help though.

I need to ask this question, as it has been an extremely sensitive subject, mostly for women posters on here. I truly would appreciate calm and thoughtful conversation- blowing up at each other and getting snarky is not adding to the conversation, but stifling it at times.

Many are going way off the deep end, when someone tries to explain this "lifestyle".

I am curious- what word would be kinder, to describe what she was doing to "possibly" earn money on the side (not sure if that has been determined to be the case)?

Someone said prostitute, another, escort. What word is the politically correct word for today? Just from reading other pages around the internet, many women have described it as a "lifestyle" to make money. No one is judging them and appreciates their honesty about what they do. Certainly no one HERE or elsewhere would ever agree that anyone deserves to die in such a vicious, cold hearted murder and their remains burned! I have not seen one post victim shaming- if anything, even those who have used "taboo" words by some on here are angry at the right person- the suspect, and some are still blaming the poor Lyft driver who's psychic radar was off that night, darn human he is. No one blamed Kelsey- what I have seen all along was simply concern for her because of this chosen lifestyle- many shady characters, as we all well know, gravitate towards women who are vulnerable. Once again, we have a beautiful young lady who's life was just beginning, ended because of a sick monster who somehow managed to charm her or threaten her to get her to the park that night, instead of going home after her no doubt, emotional draining time after her grandmother's funeral. She did not ask for this, she did not deserve this. Whether she was cashier, nursing assistant, waitress, doctor, lawyer, day care provider- what difference does it make, what title her side job is given- she didn't deserve this, period! No one does, female or male.

I hate that Kenzie came to such a brutal and horrifying ending. Some of us have daughters that age, which scares you even more as a parent. We can't hold their hands anymore, we hope and pray that they stay safe and vigilant- these days are tough for kids to grow up. It seems like there is a monster at every corner now- it's like playing Russian roulette today, you can't always judge a book by it's cover anymore- one many seem kind, caring, and charming, but behind closed doors, one just never knows anymore. Mix in drug use and heavy drinking, and in some cases, violence is right around the corner, waiting for some gentle and loving soul to be their latest victim.

Although, I will say, this brutality has been going on for probably since the beginning of time. Things were whispered in our day and not talked about- you know, that neighbor who is an alcoholic who beat his wife in front of the kids- that's what many of us grew up with. It also was far easier to murder and dispose of bodies back then- no videos, no technological footprints to help track their comings and goings, people on social media speaking out for their loved ones and friends, no DNA worries. Thankfully today, thanks to social media and awesome forensics, these sickos are spending the rest of their lives behind bars, where they belong and then some.

As I said before it could have been as simple as she lost her keys and didn’t ant to wake the roommates. If she knew he had an airbnb then perhaps she was just wanting to crash. Perhaps he wanted more and it escalated. If they had a sexual history, it could be a fetish gone wrong. However his sexual interest list posted on an earlier thread reads like he was listing everything he could hoping that something would stick, in which case, he may have been planning something like this (secret room request) and ML happened to be an easy target. I suddenly thought that if AA planned on attacking ML in the car, it does not matter what he promised her. Something she could not refuse, I think, but it does not matter what. Enough to make that trip. IRL, all he needed was to lure her into his car in an empty park.

Hey everyone. Just caught up. I have a few thoughts.

Does anyone else find it weird that he was evicted from an apartment, but he could afford a new house and car? While also telling this handyman that money is no object to build this hidden room?

I have also read reports that he collected unemployment at some point as well. This doesn't seem like a guy who can afford all these renovations to a house he just purchased in the last couple years.

We have no strong work history correlation or any source of income aside from this Air BnB. I'm just wondering how he was in the position to purchase all this!? He even was able to buy a new massage bed that was delivered to his house when he was in custody the first time.

Something about all the info we have found doesn't sit right with me. They were practically giving away his book and he wasnt exactly flush with reviews on his air BnB.

Can we look into any of this?

Yeah, I think once he had her in his car, it was over.

It was just a matter of getting her there.

Her cell phone was shut off seconds after she climbed inside, and I think that’s because he had sprung his trap.

Sounds like they already knew each other before that evening (maybe he was one of the 2 "sugar daddies" she mentioned in that private FB group?). I don't think she ever would have met a brand new guy at 3 am in a dark park right after getting off the plane from her grandmother's funeral. She wouldn't have been in the right emotional mindset.

I believe she said on her Seeking Arrangement profile that she was looking to be "spoiled" - so I could picture a scenario where she gets off her flight and she's tired and upset after her grandmother's funeral - and he convinces her to meet up with him by saying he'll pamper her and comfort her, rub her feet, they can cuddle, and he'll take good care of her.

She had said she was looking for "a SD/SB relationship with a real connection". Emphasis on the connection. Maybe he said to meet in the park so that he could take her somewhere "special" that was going to be a special surprise as a treat. She was probably tired and vulnerable and after a tough weekend was probably susceptible for offers of emotional comfort from someone familiar, and that she perhaps trusted.

In the photo of her from the airport, she has her hand pressed against her chest (and looks like she's holding her phone) like "Oh that's so sweet" - maybe she just read a text from him offering to take care of comforting her that evening or something.

Of course his real motivation for not meeting at his place was so that the police eventually wouldn't see that her Lyft dropped her off at his address (since of course they'd check that immediately). He had to make sure they weren't traceable between the park and his house.

I think he pulled a gun on her in his car immediately as soon as the Lyft driver was out of sight, took her phone, and turned it off, to avoid it being traced - her phone was turned off within a minute of getting in the car I believe. Poor thing. :(

I don’t believe the police ever mentioned anything other than she was dating? Where are people drawing conclusions about a “lifestyle”? Have LE or friends mentioned this?

Services? What services? o_O She wasn't a caterer. She wasn't a bartender. She wasn't a DJ. She wasn't a stripper. She wasn't a prostitute (nor an escort). And according to her friends posts here she was never known to use drugs. And even if she was planning on doing any of those things, it wouldn't explain why KL thought meeting in the park made more sense than going straight to the address of a hypothetical party. Nor would that explain her not telling any of her friends where she was going. I believe AA likely lied to get her to the park (and keep it a secret) but I don't think that was the lie he told. MOO.

I don’t know if it’s ok for me to respond on that but I’ve always wondered why drugs are illegal when technically alcohol and nicotine are drugs that are legal and they contribute to the most death, on average, than any other drug out there. I just feel that the law should be a little more consistent sometimes otherwise it makes it hard for people to understand.

Do we know if ML was dating the POI or has it been reported she had some other type of relationship with POI?

A poster on one of the previous threads mentioned that "real connection" was code speak for regular (monthly) payments. I agree with the rest.
