Venmo explains why transactions are public by default: 'Because it's fun'

So Venmo is another one of the sites where you have to change privacy settings. If AA is as tech savvy as he is supposed to be, he would know that. Were there questionable transactions in there-in other words, payments made to others that could indicate certain lifestyle choices? Could he and others use Venmo as a way of finding each other?

He had an Airbnb.

Wouldn't it be expected that women will be coming and going at all hours of the night and day?
Well, I would expect just as many men, in that case.
He apparently met women on dating Apps, and he lived there, so it would not be unusual for him to bring them there.
If he did have three cameras in the basement bedroom, I wonder why?
And why a secret, sound proof room? In what capacity would the guests have any use for that?

I lived next to an apartment building where one of the more expensive and larger apartments was turned into an Airbnb by it's 20-something male tenants. They did have people coming and going at all hours, but it was always a mix of men and women and generally not in the wee hours. The only time I saw a steady stream of women only coming in and out is when a previous tenant ran female escorts out of that same apartment years earlier via Craig's List. It was blatantly obvious what he was doing. I could hear the girls discussing their "dates" when they came in late at night. With some pressure from us, the owner finally evicted him. He was selling drugs as well.

I live in Los Angeles so I have pretty much seen it all. Women coming and going all night at all hours from one house? No, I don't think that's Airbnb.

MOO.

I clicked on the link, but I don't see anything. Also, how the heck is a payment app able to be seen by other people? I would think that would be private, how is it public? I guess I need to Google, because I have zelle and I use it all the time, and I am shocked that a financial application and transactions can be seen by anybody else.

Is there someone that can give me a summary of how people other than the person whose account it is can view their transactions , in addition to I will Google it. Thanks in advance.

Venmo is like a combination between payment and social media. You can add friends, and yes, payments can be shown publicly. However just the person that you paid and what it was for is shown, not the amount. People usually use emojis to represent what was paid for. I would say the majority of its use is between friends to split bills, split payment for dinner and drinks, split the cost of a lyft or uber.... small things like that. It's a lot easier than carrying cash. I use it quite a bit. You can make a payment private also, and then it wont show up to anyone else.

Some businesses are now also starting to accept venmo as payment. For example, I work for a large online retail company and I just recently worked on integrating venmo into our payment system.

For those interested in learning more about the Sugar Daddy and Sugar Baby relationship, I found this first hand account from a Beverly Hills Sugar Daddy quite interesting. The SD is an arrogant Playboy, IMO. Still, it's informative and he's very open about things. I found what he said about college sororities particularly insightful.

A Guide to Dining with a Sugar Baby, from a Beverly Hills Sugar Daddy

Truly arrogant, no one I’d want to be around, even when I was young. And poor writing that is full of typos. I didn’t look to see who the author is. The whole thing was a turn off. Demeaning.

They didn't say that's all they found, though.
Graphic warning.

If there is only a partial body or charred body, the Manner of Death would be homicide, which would enough to charge murder.

The Cause of Death might be remain Undetermined if the ME cannot determine precisely what act specifically killed her.

jmo, based on other WS cases. Not an expert in ME.

SEE!! I seriously am 45. I never heard of VENMO until my 23 y/o said she preferred to pay me back on that app. At first I said no then just caved. I only recently got on the app to send her friend graduation money and that is when I noticed EVERYONES business!! My ex boyfriends account popped up and it showed what was CLEAR transactions to STRIPPERS!!!! The note said “titties” so I clicked on her name.. stripper. I text him a screen grab saying hey, I know you like strippers but maybe don’t advertise it. He called me HORRIFIED! He had no idea we could see it. In fact every CONTACT in my phone (email and phone number) showed up in my feed... once again a sneaky app that DEFAULTS public settings. It’s so scary.

VENMO was just recently in the news for the public being able to see all of that. They just passed new etiquette rules.

That is just crazy crazy! I'm going to have to look into the application I use with my banking that is named zelle to see if there are protections. My bank suggested it for me, so I hope it is not publicly available for viewing!

What is even crazier, is it that we, as webs sleuthers have that available for us! This is a first!

Reportedly, the three cameras were in the master bedroom.
