"Valaine, age 18, was a student at the LDS Business College at the time of her disappearance and murder. She was last seen leaving the building her class was in at 11:20 am on May 5, 1977. She had plans to meet her roommate at their apartment at noon to go shopping. Valaine never arrived to that appointment. Relatives and friends described her as being very punctual. Her nude body along with some of her school books was discovered on May 7, 1977 approximately ¼ mile up Lambs Canyon."

I really feel like there's a connection between these two homicides. The bodies were found within a year of each other, within a thirty minute drive. (About 20 miles, give or take.)
Valaine Briggs was found in Lamb's Canyon on May 7th, 1977, and Kathy Harmon was found in between Parley's Canyon and Emigration Canyon on March 6th, 1976. They were both strangled, sexually assaulted, and left nude.

Maybe I'm grasping at straws here but both murders have pretty similar MOs.
They were also last seen within two miles of each other.
