GUILTY VA - 4 Die in Gas Station Explosion, Rockbridge County, 10 May 2019 *arrest*

A call is scheduled for Oct. 31 at 3 p.m. between the prosecution and defense to determine next steps in the case.

Prosecutors and the defense have reached a plea agreement in the case of a man accused of involuntary manslaughter after an explosion that killed four people.

According to the CA, Westmoreland has been placed on two years felony probation, with strict rules of compliance.

If he successfully completes the two years of probation, Moon said the charges would be amended to unsafe handling of a flammable liquid.

As for what it means to plead guilty, Moon offered the following explanation.

He said Westmoreland was asked if he is in fact guilty of the charge against him, and he said yes.

By doing so, Moon said he acknowledges that his actions that day led to the deaths of these four people, and he acknowledges to overfilling those gas tanks which led to the explosion of fire.
