This doesn't look good. Disappeared near BF's home and she's not in good physical shape.

"Beep for Bonnie" also got coverage in Charlottesville, although no new information in the stories.
I'm glad to see the coverage. Nearly everyone in Charlottesville who I've mentioned this case to hasn't heard about it.
IMO, this case needs to be considered as a possibility in the search for other victims of Jesse Leroy Matthew. I suggest this as Carter Mountain is part of the search area for Hannah Graham - missing since 13th September 2014.

From your link, ". . . the Santiago family expresses great frustration with the police for not letting them search for her on Carter's Mountain."
After she's been missing for over a year, why would the police still prevent them from searching for her there? I can understand if that were the case initially, but I'm perplexed as to why that would be at this point in time.
Carter Mountain, the epicenter of the two-day search that turned up no sign of her, is where Santiago's boyfriend works and lives. He told me her and him got into a little argument Saturday and he woke up, went to work, and come back home for lunch and realized she wasn't there, Traci said.
Last seen at her boyfriends house, they had an arguement & now she's missing. Doesn't sound good at all..
I'm assuming they mean their own private searches? If that's the case, it might help them solve this disappearance faster if they are given permission to look.
Kristi Cornwell was abducted in 2009 and her brother found her remains in early 2011, after conducting his own searches.
This kind of relationship between LE and family does sound rare though. I'm sure there are other interfering aspects, such as accidentally damaging evidence or a potential crime scene. As an alternative, they could find volunteers who have expertise with this kind of work and they could conduct searches.
Police: Missing Brands Flat woman likely dead
Ok, this article answers a lot of questions and confirms a lot of my previous lines of thought. I still pray often that Bonnie, another of our missing VA women, will be found and returned to her family.
