I hadn't thought about the Lady of the Dunes. Here is her thread: MA - MA - Provincetown, 'Lady in the Dunes' 119UFMA, 27-49, Race Point, Jul'74

Although that Jane Doe was thought to be much older than Elizabeth would have been in 1974, she was shown with freckles in one of her reconstruction sketches (like Elizabeth seems to have in her younger photo).

    Hadn’t thought about her either...

This one’s tough for me. I think all of LITDs recons look so much different from one another. Not just physical features but bone structure. Elizabeth seems to have unique cheekbones in relation to her brow-bones. (I’ll stop there because I have no clue how to effectively describe what I’m referring to lol). LITD shows to have very pronounced cheekbones in a couple of recons and then not so defined in others... I don’t know. Hard for me to tell. JMO. I haven’t followed LITD’s case, but at first glance, I guess it’s possible...

(ETA: @Gardener1850 - you’re going to have to stop being awesome and providing links to all these cases I haven’t heard of...I can’t help but look at them all! :D:p;) I only kid, of course! You’re hard work and diligence doesn’t go unnoticed!)

JMO but I think it's unlikely that Elizabeth had, or later got, that extensive, expensive dental work.

LITD: Dentals: Available.Extensive dental work. She had gold crowns on her teeth worth $5000 up to $10,000 at that time.

Yes. I think she has similar facial structure as your pictures here, but also thought she has similarities to some of the other reconsas well.

I think it's quiet because it's Christmas Eve. Everyone is busy around Christmas time and Websleuths is usually quieter. I was so hoping Elizabeth's family might have some answers by Christmas but DNA often takes so long. I hope Elizabeth's dad is able to find out what happened to his daughter before he leaves this life. I hope he is strengthened by all the family around him this holiday season and resolved to stay here until they find Elizabeth.

I have her on my mind, as well.

I tend to believe Elizabeth did go to South Africa. Back in the day it was much easier to obtain false identification or enter a country under the radar.

    Oh, Elizabeth....where are you?

This is a possibility the family has considered. But still the sudden loss in contact I am not sure would happen due to that????

We just spoke to the investigation agent and the stamps and envelopes are being screened at the crime lab to see if we can get any DNA from those. I have also been told Family DNA results to be checked against CODIS wont be back until late summer! I am not sure why it will take so long, I am guessing there is a big back up and this isn't a high priority.

I agree. Elizabeth was a progressive "thinker" and openly expressed her opinion.... to family and openly in the newspaper. I don't anything would prevent her from communicating with a family she clearly loved and knew they worried about her. In every letter, she shared her experiences, her love for family, and need to help others. Her last letters seemed to warn of danger, difficult times and secrecy. I feel sadness reading them.

Can we do anything to "hurry up" the State Police?
