Question for forensic specialists out there:
Can the forensic evidence from the interior of the car, be differentiated - so as to be confident (weasel word) , that the physical evidence is not merely from transfer of fibers from HG to JM - and subsequently from JM to his vehicle's seats, etc.
Simply finding fibers on the passenger seat of JM's vehicle, doesn't seem to reliable. Quite often, I need to sit in the passenger seat of my own car, to find something, load the car, etc.

Potential opportunities for transfer of physical evidence:
There are eye witnesses, who have seen HG and JM walking side-by-side. And, according to witnesses, at one point, JM had an arm around HG's waist. By the limited description of what was casually seen through the window of the car (flip flops in the window), it doesn't appear that JM took advantage of the time, to sanitize his car. Quite the opposite. In fact, the description of his car, caused one poster here in WS, to describe JM's vehicle as 'a forensic mess".

The condition of interior of JM's vehicle, is the one issue, that keeps me from 'hopping over the fence', and agreeing that JM has something to hide.

As others have, I am considering that is might be possible, that JM's DNA has been analyzed (screened if you will). And they know what they are dealing with. And based on that result, they are now challenged to obtain a sample, directly from JM. The current LE machinations would appear to revolve around that singular objective.

I am of the mind that anything can happen anywhere. Gun permits are issued almost every day. Your personal protection needs to be a priority. Future abductions can be prevented with an instrument invented in 1260 know as a firearm. Two words: Personal Responsibility

It doesn't matter what the evidence is...A conviction will be extremely easy to obtain, unless someone else confesses before then.

I don't understand what you mean by that. Evidence is essential. A conviction with no evidence is not easy to obtain and sometimes a conviction is hard enough to obtain, even with good evidence.

Alexis' case began with same two charges, no? And no "sex ring" or trafficking there, Imo...

No, I haven't been able to keep up. I am remodeling. What has been happening?

ok, that makes sense then. Its just that the fact that he ran away from the surveillance has been front and center of the talk.

Did anyone else notice that Kongo made no mention of finding Hannah? Or bringing Hannah home? Or giving answers to her family? I wonder why? There was no urgency. I think they already know, but are done sharing.

He did, right at the end when a reporter asked, and he apologised for not saying it earlier in his remarks.

If any DNA matched from the known rape, it would also match for Morgan's murder. He would be wanted for murder, Imo.

I think they either haven't tested his DNA against the DNA of MH's killer, yet, or they have & aren't releasing that info., yet.

If they had tested it & it came back NOT a match, I think they'd release that info. to the public to quell the rumors, potential mass panic, distracting stories...

Now, if they've tested it & it WAS a match, not only to Hannah's case, but also to other cases, I'm torn. I lean towards them keeping it quiet for now so no lynch mob forms & finds JM before LE does, but then again, don't the police have a duty to warn the public? I don't know what to think.

JMO..I don't think this case involves a trafficking ring. To somewhat echo what others have said, I think it's possible JM texted someone telling him/her that he had "picked up" (possibly drunk and/or drugged) HG and, maybe even jokingly, said he planned to engage in some sort of sexual act with her. If she were under the influence and he was guiding her by holding her waist, it could be seen as abduction. JMO

I think this is a really good theory.

Sufficient probable cause for an arrest warrant.

Sounds like Longo heard the feedback about how he came off and is trying hard to seem calmer.

To me it sounds like he is in a different phase of the investigation and is not making a direct appeal to the suspect at this time.

Longo has 13 years as chief of police, handling several high profile cases and he is known to be an excellent public speaker. IMO everything this man does is calculated. He's not losing his head here. And while so many seem to believe everything he says is for their benefit, it's not. Some of what he says and does is very likely a specific message to the suspect or witnesses, etc.

I've researched. It seems this is a very intelligent, driven officer. I looked hard to find anything to support what I see is a real negative perception (on the part of some here) of this officer and his methods but I found nothing in his record or any statements by any colleagues or even critics to substantiate the inference that he is a buffoon trying to somehow create a circus for some inexplicable reason or railroad an innocent man or whatever. Nothing.

Was he convicted of anything more serious? She was going on and on about how no record for JM last night too. Just wondering what else would be on his record if not found guilty

He was convicted of Tresspassing after being warned.

He has Assault and Grand Larceny charges (not convictions), but you see him routinely getting five continuances and making it hard on witnesses.

This is what I am thinking. The circumstances depicted in the video + eyewitness accounts that suggest she was 'in distress' and did not know the suspect (and therefore would not have willingly gone with him) = the charge.

So they do not even need someone to say they saw Hannah being forced in the car? Aren't most cases where the defendant turns out to be innocent due to faulty eyewitnesses?

It makes no sense that a trafficking ring would target an upper middle class white girl like Hannah. Can someone post a link w/ a similar victim? I would think that even criminals know that certain victims get media circuses and tons of resources...big risk to abduct one of them.
Amy Bradley?

My thoughts on this charge....

They have evidence that Hannah was in JM's car and perhaps his apartment. They have evidence that he possessed the date rape drug. They have a witness at Tempo that saw him slip something into her drink. This could explain the charge of abduction with the intent to defile. People have mentioned video or texts of a sexual nature. That makes sense to me as well.

Again, just my thoughts.

At least they have something with some teeth.
If the date rape/roofies were present a drug charge would have been added to the warrant.

Apologies if this has already been discussed, but why didn't police detain Matthew when they were following him around and had him in their sights?

They did not have enough evidence at the time. I believe Longo just said today that the commonwealth (The DA basically) as agreed that now there is enough Probable Cause.

Where is Hannah????? Where could this man have left/put her that no one can figure out????? Heartbreaking. :(

Thx for the reply. Personally, im waiting for actual hard evidence of his guilt. It just seems like 'new evidence' isnt required for these new charges. I want to wait and see what they found from searches, if anything.

I'm wondering if his DNAdoes match, and they don't want a panic.. If he is a match to a prior rape, then can basically assume his intent? Maybe they don't want to know there's a serial on the loose. Just rambling, sorry.

Nail...meet Head. DEAD ON!

2Hope4...Yes :( I was thinking the same thing...same charges that started out RAT in the Alexis Murphy case. Was so hoping it wouldn't go this direction.
