[h=3]Details of Disappearance[/h] Lohninger was last seen in Fairfax, Virginia on August 7, 1987. She has never been heard from again. Her daughter reported her missing after she realized several days' worth of mail had accumulated at Lohninger's townhouse in the 5500 block of Ridgeton Hill Court.
Foul play is not suspected in Lohninger's disappearance. She was declared legally dead in 1994. She is a naturalized German citizen.

Police searched the area with a dog and a helicopter and friends and relatives searched the woods and trails near Lohninger's town house, where she loved to walk.
Several days' accumulation of mail was found at Lohninger's town house at Ridgeton Hill Court, where she lived alone. Foul play is not suspected in her disappearance.
She was officially declared deceased in 1994, but her body was never found.
