Found Deceased VA - Jamier Dashawn Leonard, 21, Emporia-Greensville, Greensville County, 26 July 2019

The Greensville County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who went missing July 25 in Emporia.

Jamier Leonard, 21, was last seen at Meherrin Lane Apartments wearing a white V neck T-shirt, black jeans with a red and white stripe on the side and black and white Nike tennis shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (434) 348-4200.

Body pulled from Meherrin River during search for missing man

A death investigation is underway after a body was pulled from the Meherrin River in Emporia Wednesday afternoon.

Personnel from the Greensville County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department located the body of an adult male in the Meherrin River at approximately 2:30 p.m. while assisting with the search for Jamier Leonard.

The body was located approximately 100 yards from the I-95 bridge.

*NOTE** The body has not been identified and has been transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Richmond for an autopsy.

I am thinking that they jumped the gun a little here. They thought they had found Jamier in the River, but the tenative ID must have not came back as him??

Virginia mother pleads for answers after her missing son was found dead in river

Jamier’s cause of death is undetermined at this time by the Medical Examiner,” said Sgt. Troy Hawkins with the Emporia Police Department.

Hawkins wants the public’s help in building a timeline for Jamier’s whereabouts starting July 25.

He has talked about being depressed, but he also was a community figure with a large income (looks like he was into day trading). It is possible that could attract foul play, especially if he was involved with other 'self-employed' people. If there wasn't water in his lungs to prove a drowning, he probably didn't die by suicide.
