Same age as my daughter. Praying she is found SAFE and SOON!

Has anyone seen it specified where her car was found? The wording in the article was very vague, I am guessing LE asked for them to report it that way. The fact that no one saw her after she was at her boyfriends is very concerning, but trying to remain hopeful for a good outcome.

ETA: I see the news clip shows where the car was found (according to family, not LE) and that where she was last seen was in another county.

The Appomattox County Sheriff's Office says Henderson was last seen on Thursday, April 5.
Henderson told 10 News her daughter went to her boyfriend's house on Stage Road Thursday night and was supposed to hang out with a friend afterwards, but never made it there, and she didn't go to work on Friday morning.

So, if I am reading this right, she did make it to the boyfriend's but never made it to the meet up with her friend. So the boyfriend was the last to see her, that we know of.

Article cited in post #5 above from WSLS says: Sunday morning, Lynchburg police found Henderson's 2005 Chevrolet Impala near the Sunshine Market and Deli on Campbell Avenue, according to her family.

In looking at a photo of the market and deli there appears to be a security camera on the front of the building. Hopefully, there's some useful footage there, if it is operating.

Link says LE is treating this as a homicide. No motive or POIs yet. =( heartbreaking for her family and friends..

The Campbell County Sheriff's Office confirms Felix Jerome Jefferson has been arrested and is charged in connection to Henderson's murder.

According to the jail's website, he's charged with accessory after the fact of a homicide, class 1 or 2, and accessory after the fact in felony.

Investigators said Jefferson was denied bond and is being held in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Campbell County.

There's no word on the connection between Jefferson and Henderson.

The sheriff's office said the case is still under investigation.

Historically, accessory after the fact is rarely charged in Virginia. To be convicted of accessory after the fact, the Commonwealth must prove that the defendant had actual knowledge of the commission of a felony and thereafter provided the perpetrator with aid or comfort.

Charges usually result when the person charged have assisted a friend or family member with either hiding evidence or fleeing the scene of a crime, or in some cases sheltering them after they have committed a crime. Accessory after the fact is a serious charge, a Class 1 misdemeanor carrying up to 12 months in jail and a fine of up to $2,500. Note: the code section excludes immediate family members from prosecution. So if you provide assistance to your spouse, sibling, parent, child, or grandchild, you cannot be prosecuted as an accessory after the fact (it doesn’t mean you won’t be charged with interference with an investigation but NOT accessory after the fact).

First and foremost, to be convicted of accessory after the fact under Virginia Code §18.2-19, the defendant must have been aware of the underlying felony. Knowledge of the commission of a misdemeanor is not enough. Furthermore, the Commonwealth must prove that the defendant knew that a felony had been completed (not attempted). Since this is often difficult ot prove the fact that he was charged must mean they have some compelling evidence.

I am sad and angry. Having a daughter her age just makes the reality of what is lost super real. So many missing and murdered, but it never gets easier. Prayers for her mother. :crying:

They're also looking for another guy~Marquie Williams~ who was supposedly a boyfriend of Lisa's.

Since the man in custody has been charged as accessory, he is not the one that actually killed her and that person is still out there. More info here. He waived bond. It's likely he figures if he is released he is at risk as he is likely both accessory and witness.

The man, arrested in connection with the death of an Appomattox County woman, will be in court today. Police arrested Felix Jefferson in connection with Lisa Henderson's death and disappearance in April. He is charged with accessory after the fact in a homicide and felony. Henderson's mother reported her missing in April. Her car was found days later in Lynchburg with her body found in a wooded area in Concord. Her mother says Jefferson is related to Lisa's boyfriend.
