She suggests that ALC was "busting her butt, making little to no money" and wanted to do the same but wanted to do it her way, independently...then KO suggests that ALC later persuaded KO to go into their own private business.

This makes it sound like after KO says she got ALC to NY and away from her troubles in Florida, that ALC wanted to go private. Others have found that ALC and her then husband, Donald, lived at an address in High Point, FL, that was associated with an escort service.

Somewhere along the way ALC became a drug addict...the question is when?

At some point, when KO "got" ALC to NY, she supposedly got her into a rehab out in the West side of LI, maybe Port Jefferson. So, when did ALC start up at the home in Babylon where she lived with DS and the "BF" that she supposedly met in rehab.

How did she come to be associated with DS, through KO?
Did she initially, move in with KO before going to rehab and then moved to Babylon?

So many inconsistencies...maybe it is time some investigative reporter sat down with KO, DS and ALC's BF all together at the same time. Get the facts and get her real timeline and how they are all connected and why no one chose to report ALC missing...even up until her body was uncovered.

You do not become an addict over night; just like you do not get sober overnight either. Sure there are instances that will push someone to use more. She was into H. I dont think anyone has ever jumped out of bed in the morning and said I think I am going to try H today. Probably started out with pain pills, and eventually to Heron. Florida is very well known for pain pills as is Long Island. Its an epidemic here on LI and so is H. Its a horrible horrible thing. It got her dumped on the side of the highway.

Ok, but with focus on the murder case, what is relevant for the case? Since the other victims had other vices, the question is reduced to what would establish a connection? Rehab?
KO lived already in NY and was in the business. So when ALC came to the area, it appears to me as if she had access to KO's contacts, right?

At least, we know, Akeem Cruz (sorry, I'm lousy with abbreviations), Megan's pimp/bf got himself a stint for some drug possession with intent to sell charges as it looks. So there is a chance, she used or even she helped him selling.
Looking over them, Maureen prostituted herself because she had no choice, she was about to be foreclosed. So it was pure need, not feeding a habit. Not even a credible hint, Maureen was casual user.

Sometime between 2006 and 2007, she leaves NC and goes to stay with family or friends in the Clearwater, FL area.

In 2007, she marries a guy who is 15+ years her senior. They live at an address, IIRC, in High Point, Fl that was once associated with a registered Escort Business.

In 2009, she is arrested on a theft charge and leaves Florida without ever appearing for her court dates.

In Feb of 2010, a divorce is granted from Donald E Costello. By this time, it appears that she is in NY...brought there by her sister?

By summer of 2010, she has been in & out of rehab, met her BF, BB, and is running her "service out of the house with DS and her sister.

In July 2010, members at Utopia Guide start a negative rewiew page on Italia (KO) and Caolina (ALC)...

By the first week in September, ALC is missing and neither KO, DS or BB report her missing.

Her body is found in Dec 2010 and KO comes forward.

And why would DS do that? Telling it was his phone when it wasn't? Where would be his profit, hid gain? 'Where would be his profit or gain in tossing ALC's phone? Or the sister's?
People lie for reasons. People don't lie to make themselves look bad. So if someone tells a story which makes him looking bad (like in DS' case, basically admitting, he was running the business like every other pimp), it has some basic credibility.

The problem is the order of things here. Going to the city to score, then back makes no sense. But setting up meetings with clients in the city and scoring on the way makes sense, especially, when we assume, most clients didn't book just the $50 quickie.

A Wilmington, N.C., native, Costello did not graduate high school, married and divorced twice and bounced around jobs in North Carolina and Florida before moving to New York in late 2009. Schaller, a friend of Costello's sister Kimberly Overstreet and then a commercial fisherman, said he paid for her plane ticket.

She attended a 28-day rehab program at St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, where Brodsky said he met her. Both of them relapsed into drug use by the following spring.

Costello bought a prepaid cellphone and uploaded a Craigslist post advertising herself as a private dancer named Carolina, Brodsky said.

"That phone never stopped ringing," he said.

Schaller allowed her to work from his home. He and Brodsky say they did not act as pimps for Costello. But one of them was usually in another room when she had clients over. There were rules: Clients came to her and paid $200 an hour; she went only as far as she wanted to; and if a client demanded more, she called out for Schaller or Brodsky. The men would make the client leave -- in some cases physically removing him.

"It was a very controlled environment," Schaller said.

By midsummer, Brodsky said, Costello was earning $7,000 a week.

"She would lay the cash down on the table and say, 'Here, you can have $3,000 and I'll take four,' " Brodsky said.

By August, Brodsky was back in rehab. Costello kept living with Schaller until her disappearance the next month. Her vanishing didn't immediately cause alarm, since she had left at other times as well.

And it was KO who knew DS prior to Amber left FL for NY.
