Possible Victim: Maureen Brainard-Barnes, 25, missing July 2007, found Gilgo Beach Dec 2010 *POI Rex Heuermann*

Addressing someone's comment about the price of an one way ticket from Penn Station to New London, CT (near Groton), back then, depending on the day/time, it would be less than $100, probably around $60. I don't think the price of the ticket would've made her go Grand Central to Metro North and then back to Amtrak. What I do question is a midnight train out of Penn on a Sunday night. It was on a Sunday, correct?

I would more likely believe that the killer may have promised to drive her back to CT the next day.

I would bet that there's some low-key escort agency from that time who knows what happened. Maybe her and other independents were
stepping on the wrong toes in that business.

Brand new here. Of all the crime cases I have seen, this one bothers me the most because its solvable. Solve MBB murder and solve LISK. The nexus between Midtown and Long Island is key. How did he lure a girl who had strict rules to LI without anyone else knowing? The abduction had to take place at or near the Penn Station. If she had set up a client call away from her hotel she would have told someone. If she rode the train again she would have told someone especially for a long boring ride. If her phone had died then how was it turned on near Fire Island? I believe she was lured directly at the station. Not by force but by confidence. Who would she trust? A client or someone with some official title, uniform or car marking. I have a profile I will post in the appropriate area but I am guessing the police know a lot more than they are saying. This was the killers first and it was opportunistic, risky and he made mistakes.

We know of one big time drug dealer who went to jail for 10 years - about 1985-1995. He gets convicted in Suffolk courts and when he has to report to jail the FEDS step in and take him away....to wherever.

He gets out of jail and sets up a sex business: *advertiser censored* movies, pimping gals, etc. He sets up in several places for his office and residence within blocks of Penn Station.

Returns to LI - Oak Beach and buys a house on Savannah Walk for $225K. 2004 he sells the house to Bellone's BFF for $825k. House is valued in the journals for $425k.

In or about 2011 a story in the papers say this man has died of a heart attack in NYC.

THE QUESTION IS; IS HE REALLY DEAD?

I think you've mentioned this guy before, Hawkshaw, though I can't remember the name at the moment. I don't know how far others are able to go to fake a death (I'm sure it's possible, especially with the right connections/reasons to some). I have access to SSDI records, Social Security Death Index--I don't know if that could be spoofed as well, I guess it's possible, but if anyone wants me to take a look, I would be able to. I don't trust just obits for death info, anyone could write them. I trust death certificates more, though those could be messed with too, I suppose, in some sort of way. *Shrug. Anywho, that guy is suspicious, from what I've read here, and deep in the underworld. No pun intended.

The trouble in Suffolk County is there legions of weirdos that fit the profile of LISK than we can imagine. HF is a perfect fit not to be included in a vast array of suspects.

If you folks want to play detective and diddle around with something I can give you an assignment to amuse you. Do you want to play?

I'm game. I for one, would be happy to poke around...I'm not a detective, and never will be, but I like to help--and have an open mind. I never settled on my POIs, not enough evidence. And as you said, "legions of weirdos" does not a serial killer make, IMO. I'm always open to exploring other avenues.

He's got at least one brother who can be seen hanging around the bar the Brewer and/or the Brewer family own on Higbie lane. Just check out his facebook page. That Oak Beach community has a lot of intertwined people.

Hawk, I can't find any info on HFs sex businesses or his activities after prison. My father grew up on the same street he did...I wish he was still alive so I could ask him questions.

I DO, I DO!! LOL

It's all a lot to chew on, I haven't gotten to looking into HF beyond a quick look at info, but I think it's good to keep the conversation going, and to keep the threads current with whatever info we have. Keep bumping for Maureen!

I have a video of three young trying to break into an Oak Beach house. This house could be no further than a couple of thousand feet from where the GB4 were found. The person that owns this house has been a POI mentioned on this Board, many times over.

IMO, this so -called burglary was not a burglary at all. It is nothing more than a staged burglary to make it look as though one of the poi's longtime girlfriend set the burglary up to get her in trouble to cause her more grief and aggravation than she already had with this nut job. She was lucky to escape the clutches of this maniac who regularly supplied her with drugs to keep her under his wing.

This tape shows three young men in the rear of this house in no particular hurry to break in. The videotape indicates the time stamp shows it was ongoing at 9:20PM. The news report suggesting the police shared information with the paper says it happened at 4:20AM.

These three fellows have partial face coverings and if you stay with the tape you will see enough of their faces to identify them if someone knows them or if the police tried real hard to identify them. It appears as though the cops didn't lift a finger to do so.

You will see one of the young men trying to pry open a door in the rear of the house. He is unable to do so because, IMO, he is not really a burglary. You will then see him in a 'what the heck moment' and go over to two flower pots and take a key to open the door.

This is NOT Rocket Science to figure out and one doesn't have to be a former police detective to figure it out.

He posted it on his facebook page...definitely looked suspicious. His comments on it were strange, too. And he would only say "babylon" when people asked the location. But plenty others chimed in that it was oak beach. at least one of the men look directly into the camera. He also said they were intending to harm the family. Very sketchy. $5k reward offered by the police, supposedly. And supposedly $13k in cash was the target. Hmmm, I wonder why there were no follow up posts as this was 2 years ago.

If MBB had set up a client call it would have been arranged after her friend and fellow escort left NYC without her, and AFTER she made the call to her friends—from the vicinity of Penn Station—asking them to come back and pick her up…
I’m not sold on the abduction theory; while it’s a possibility, there is just no evidence of any kind to support it.
It seems more likely that she called her contact from Craigslist, the one that was known for ‘bumping’ ads up the list for a fee, and arranged a deal w. him/her. If she did get a client inquiry, she WOULD NOT have called her friends to let them know, specifically because she was breaking her own ground rules on what to do and not to do (since she had been ‘training’ her friend, the newbie escort), and probably wouldn’t want them to worry about her on her own.

Also just want to add to previous post: don’t forget that NYPD IA became involved after CT PD got hold of her laptop (MBB missing persons report was filed w. local CT PD) and they discovered that an NYPD officer had contacted her in response to craigslist ad.

Pete, I watched the video, worst burglary I've ever seen. Wanted to point out, re: the distance from GB4 to Oak Beach, if you go by the Cedar Beach Marina (right in the middle of the body zone):

The building there south of labeled (in blue) Cedar Island is the Cedar Island Marina. From there, to midpoint in Oak Beach where the "burglary happened" is 4.4 miles, quite a ways really:
