This census record seems to be the closest fit of the Harold C Anderson's from the 1930 census records. The father of this family immigrated from Denmark. I don't have any cross check yet. I will keep investigating.

Possibly silly, definitely naive question: If Mr Anderson is buried, who buried him? Does Spokane do this without NOK?

yes, they bury their unclaimed in spokane. If family is found, they allow the family to decide what they want to do. Some have decided to exhume and rebury. Others decide to leave unclaimed where they are buried. In Spokane, they primarily want to know the family has been notified. The records are not always the best there.

In other jurisdictions, the ME's office cremates the unclaimed and family, if found, can claim the cremains.

What happens when family is found varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.

Thanks for giving the unclaimed some attention. Join us, some of these cases are quite solvable if someone will put in the time. NM

Judging by the Michigan issue of the SSN, I found a 1940 census, but no mention of a middle initial.

    Name:
    Harold Anderson Jr
    Father:
    Harold Anderson
    Mother:
    Gladys Anderson
    Birth:
    abt 1928 - Michigan
    Residence:
Detroit, Wayne, Michigan - Age: 12
"Same house" was listed for all 3 people in the pre-April 1935 column

Census record is free to view, just need to log in @ ancestry.com
