Cops hunt for teenage couple after their abandoned car was found 'in an area hard to get lost in' | Daily Mail Online

Austin Grote and Alicia McCaskill were last seen on Saturday afternoon at a Safeway grocery store in Enumclaw, Washington.

Relatives found Austin's car the next day more than six miles away after using a phone app to track where the young couple's phones were last on.

His vehicle was parked on Mud Mountain Dam Road, north of Mount Rainier National Park, but there was no trace of the teens or their cell phones, which are now both off. The car was found in an area police say 'is hard to get lost in'.

Cause of death for two Enumclaw teens could be weather-related

ENUMCLAW, Wash. — The King County Sheriff's Office believes it located the bodies of two missing Enumclaw teens in the Mud Mountain Dam area.

The two were found when floodwaters receded near the Mud Mountain Dam, less than a mile from their car. Their car had been abandoned nearby and underwater over the last few days due to flooding.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death, but investigators are exploring whether the teens became trapped in the floodwaters or died from exposure and cold, or both.
