No updates found. I hope she didn't take a ride with someone who harmed her. Why wouldn't she take a ride with LE?

Details of Disappearance
McAlister was last seen in Goldendale, Washington on July 3, 2019. She was trying to hitchhike back to her home in The Dalles, Oregon. The police saw her walking westbound on State Route 142 at milepost 22 that afternoon and offered to assist her, but she refused. She has never been heard from again. Few details are available in her case.

Her sister has posted on social media that as of 12/28/2019, Heather is still missing. The sister also just had a baby recently so I am sure that is her priority right now.

In the comments of this post dated 11/22/2019, the sister has a comment about where Heather's personal items were found.

Missing People In America

In addition some friends have posted in 9/2020 that Heather is still missing with some of the same details as the sister posted.

I wonder why she was in Washington state and why no safe plan to get home?

I assume nothing of use (such as a last phone call or message to someone who might have picked her up) was on her phone?

Were credit cards missing? Was a lot of cash in her purse? Did it appear things were flung down or neatly placed?

Has she ever voluntarily "gone missing" and for how long?

Since there is a photo of a wedding ring, was she married when she went missing?

McAlister suffers from mental illness. She may be confused or disoriented and may be in need of medical attention.

Heather's ID, money, phone and other personal belongings were found in Klickitat County on Highway 142 approximately between mile post 28 and 29.

Heather's sister said not long ago there was a team of around 130 men and women from all around the state with 15 cadaver dogs searching for miles around where some of her belongings were found. Unfortunately, they came up with nothing.

Her maiden name is McCowen.
