Pasco police are trying to learn new information about a man who has been missing since before Christmas.

Nathan Rich, 25, was last known to be in Pasco on Dec. 15, 2018. At the time, police said he was wearing a black leather jacket, jeans, hiking boots and a Cowboys hat. He was also carrying a dark Nike duffle bag.

Rich is 6’2” and weighs about 180 pounds. He has light brown hair and blue eyes. There is a mushroom tattooed on his right shoulder and “702” on his left forearm.

Det. Julie Lee is trying to learn where he went or what may have happened to him. Police said he is not in trouble with the law.

Nathan Rich left Pasco to see family in Nevada 10 days before Christmas last year, and he hasn’t been seen since.

Pasco police are asking for the public’s help in finding the 24-year-old who was last seen on Dec. 15, according to a missing poster.

He never arrived in Nevada and no one has heard from him.

This Pasco man disappeared 5 months ago. Can you help police find him?

I wonder how Nathan was planning to travel to Nevada? He apparently left on foot since no vehicle or ride was mentioned. From Nathan's FB friends list, he has two relatives living in Nevada--one in Carson City, another working in Virginia City (both are near Reno, NV). Carson City and Virginia City are 16 miles apart, so most of Daniels travels would be getting from Pasco, WA to Nevada. There are two main ways for him to get to the Carson City area by driving/hitchhiking, each route involving around 11 hours of highway driving:

If Daniel wanted to use public transportaion (busses/trains), the trip would take over 24 hours, and go through Portland, OR, then Sacramento, CA, then up to Reno, NV:

Another public transportation option would be to travel from Pasco, WA to Boise, ID, to Salt Lake City, UT, and then to Reno, NV. This option would take the same travel time as the trip through Portland/Sacramento, but would involve 3 transfers, whereas the 1st option only needed one transfer.

Of course he could have gotten there by plane also.

With such a large area of land involved with all of these options, it really would help to know how he planned to travel to Nevada.

I thought it was very interesting that the detective said that Nathan never left Tri-Cities in that article:

On Dec. 13, Nathan Rich, 25, was arrested on a warrant in the Tri-Cities. The next day he was released. Dec. 15 was the last day anyone saw him. Pasco Police Detective Julie Lee said one person who knows Rich told her he packed up his stuff to go back to Nevada, his home state. He’s lived in the Tri-Cities since 2016. He didn’t have a car or a way to get there.

“That is not the case. Nathan never left the Tri-Cities,” Lee said. “Any place that he had any type of connection, no one has seen him.” . . .

The article also goes on and detail the fraud that was allegedly committed with Nathan's EBT card, and who has been charged with that crime. One of those charged with using Nathan's EBT card was a person that had reported Nathan missing! This is a very sad case, IMO, and it appears to me that Nathan is no longer alive.

"Rich missed a court hearing in March 2019, but his EBT card was reinstated that month and used until September. In January 2020, Mira Fitzhugh, who was Nathan's girlfriend, and Cory Silva were arrested for fraud for using the card."

So...nobody could verify his whereabouts, he missed court, but continued getting benefits? That should have been a HUGE red flag for social services.

What I find odd is that Nathan's facebook says he is in a relationship with Mira Fitzhugh. Corey Silva is listed as a friend on another facebook of Nathan. What kind of girlfriend and friend use his personal information and pretend to be him after he is missing to get EBT benefits. That is just suspicious and odd. I find Mira and her actions suspicious. She has many facebook post where she says she loves and misses Nathan. Just seems odd that he is last seen dec 15th and she is his girlfriend but doesnt report him missing until the 31st and then commits fraud using his information.
